Went to see Militarie Gun last night. Fun show with great vibes. This album was in the back of my mind the entire time though. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I still can't believe we're all experiencing this moment in time and I'm cherishing it. You Don't Know What You've Got is a very fitting metaphor for this entire era of the band. This album is just so fresh and energetic for them. You can tell they put their heart and soul into this and it shows. I'm on listen #6 at this point and it would've been higher if not for that show last night ha. Finally watched the Zane interview too and it was as good as I was expecting. Think they said it all there and left no stone unturned. Anthem Pt 3, Terrified, and Turpentine are my current favs. Unequivocally my album of the year and it's not even close.
I have been avoiding the blink threads to not be spoiled but my gods... I cant believe how good this album is. I am blown away.
Childhoods definitely growing on me big time. if that video someone posted a little while ago of 3 younger actors on a beach dressed as Tom, Mark and Travis are for a music video and it's for this song, then it's gonna hit hard lol
Gonna have to dumb it down a bit. No words larger than 5 characters and for sure no mention of Feldman
Glad to see anthem Part 3 getting lots of love. Haven’t heard the album yet but from the snippet I had heard of it on Zane Lowe trailer, I predicted it would be top 3 on album for me.
I’m sure there’s a deluxe version or EP in the pipeline with some of the other tracks they recorded, which is really exciting.
Hard for me to rank them against each other and not sure I want to lol. I'll be listening to both this and Nine on a regular basis. Off one listen, Remember and Childhood are both up there as their best closers
There’s definitely tracks that fell flat for me but I’m choosing to focus on the positives since I really love a little over half of this record. Turpentine and Bad News has been on constant repeat, Terrified took me back to first listening to Boxcar and put an immediate smile on my face, and Tom sounds so good on this record. Mark also sounds great and I loved his verse on Turpentine. Lastly; Travis also produced the living hell out of this. Dude is the secret sauce for this burger for sure. Easily their best work in the past decade - that’s right - I still love Neighorhoods y’all
Blink Wave sounds like how AvA should sound like.. I guess there’s no real reason for AvA to continue on if Tom can scratch that itch with Blink though? Not mad at that tbh
