As someone from the granite state, I think it is so fucking funny that there is a movie called Live Free or Die Hard
I was about to post how great turpentine was but that the mispronunciation annoyed the shit out of me… then I heard the final line. Kinda wish we had a few more “just Mark” songs, but beggars can’t be choosers (bad news and other side are awesome but too short!). Album rocks overall.
If I had to lament anything, it's the lack of Tom's mischievous lower string riffs a la Lemmings, Dysentery Gary, Roller Coaster, Feeling This, Violence, etc.
Alright, two listens tonight and both times were an emotional experience for me. Teared up and smiled throughout the entire thing. No song has hit me as hard as Anthem Part 3 did in a long time. It was like a shock to my system. I wasn’t expecting it. I mean, I knew I needed a wake up call, but I wasn’t expecting it to a new blink-182 song haha.
Simplifying it here, but in the song "Childhood", the beginning progression is C Major, E Minor, D Minor and F Minor. That F Minor (IVm chord) at the end shouldn't be there and is borrowed from the minor key even though the song is in a major key. Basically a fancy way of explaining why that chord sounds moody and sort of out of place there.
California has some tracks but I refuse to believe Brohemian Rhapsody is good, and it's a hill I'll die on. This album has some TRACKS though.
I'm like halfway into this. The first couple of singles really pale in comparison to the rest of the album tracks, Terrified is my favorite Blink song since Not Now!! I feel like a big goof now for setting such low expectations.
Does anyone have any highlights from the Zane interview? I've watched it, I'm just curious on peoples key takeaways.
