Quite the takes in here! Excited to listen on Friday Are there deliberate “joke” songs on this at all?
childhood as some serious Pretty Odd vibes. silly psychedelic beatles esque poppy punk bop. (pretty odd is criminally underrated and a standout panic record imo)
Rofl, the vinyl booklet we caught a glimpse of weeks ago was missing "When We Were Young" best lines... And making it full of nonsense at the same time. Song feels so urgent. Love it and it's just mid in the context of the record.
Quite a few songs on this that are without a doubt as strong as anything they've done. Childhood is one of those songs.
This is surprisingly great. As someone who loved the Skiba era, I was skeptical of them making music with Tom again. This is so much better than anything I could have expected. I really hope they come to Portland on their next tour so I can hear these songs live.
went in with such low expectations...blew me away, enjoyed this so much more than i had thought i would. Bad News is for sure my initial favorite, just can't help but love a 2 minute Mark banger!
late to the party for the pre-release songs, but Dance With Me is so catchy. those OLEs are infectious
Thanks to those that DM'd me a link. The real album is the friends we made along the way. And this one, which thus far, rules.
Haven’t listened to the album yet, will probably just hold off until Friday, but glad everyone is loving it.
Childhood is the most unexpected blink song here... Psychedelic influences as has been laid down and I'd add the outro almost goes IDM, Sweet Trip-ish. Also major retro videogames/16bit music vibes, which fits perfectly. Along with Anthem Part 3 it was the most emotional song for me, wasn't prepared for any song to hit me this much. Both perfect as bookends.
I mean, I was skeptical about Tom coming back considering I really didn't enjoy the last album and EP they made with him as much as I wanted, nor have I really enjoyed any of his other work in the past 20 years. This album is well above any of that though so it's cool with me lol
They had to do it. No way they were coming back as these 3 with a distant/broken/half-assed album. I'm still fucking astounded I'm 33 and getting excited for a blink-182 album like I'm 13. Fucking insane.
