Anthem 3 is very easily the best song I’ve heard from them in 20 years. I’ll listen to the rest tomorrow
Please do lol it'd be an honor. Like, it's been a bit since I've heard it but I'm pretty sure the structure is almost identical. The way the vocals flow remind me of what makes Wendy Clear one of my all time favorite blink songs. Also think it's the only fully Mark song on the album?
I can't believe we got so many singles and yet the album manages to feel like a complete surprise. They did something very, very right.
Terrified is pretty easily my favourite song on here after one listen through. That chorus really soars
Other Side is a tribute song to Marks bass tech Robert Noise I’m assuming. Definitely a highlight on the album
God damn, "Bad News" is good. What the fuck? Total NFG vibes. I almost can't believe blink is capable of those palm mutes lol
Twitter's lack of any content moderation at all seems like it should be opening them up to more legal issues than it seems to have so far. It's RAMPANT over there.
So far this is definitely a lot better than Neighbourhoods. Looking forward to listening to it in more detail tomorrow with my AirPod Pros.
the bridge/ 1:20ish on Bad News is like scientists crafted "definitive blink 182 moment" in a lab sustained distorted guitar note clean note picking riff classic Mark Hoppus (TM) chord bass playing the I-V-VI-IV progression Travis going ham it's not even a particularly inventive or exceptional part or anything, it's just pure blink edit: reminds me a little of the intro to Josie now that i think about it
Same. It was so easy that I paused for a second before clicking the link thinking "this is surely going to cause some virus on my computer" lol
it's so much better than neighborhoods that it's almost not worth it to even say that it's better than neighborhoods.
"Bad News" seems to be getting the most love so far from my informal reading. That one really gives me late tracklist TOYPAJ vibes.
Just got to "You Don't Know What You've Got" and wow, that one hit ALL the feels. This is soooooooo good. Still doesn't feel real that I'm listening to this right now.
I am absolutely floored. This was absolutely incredible. They hit on every era on the band while still making it sound fresh and new. Hooks for days, so glad we got some classic Mark songs too. Album of the year!!
Can't believe they had the nerve to make the final chorus of When We Were Young jump from 7/8 to 4/4 lol
Terrified verses = cousin of Watch the World verses Terrified chorus = cousin of Tiny Voices chorus What a banger
