Said it before, say it again ... everyone trying to blame things on Feldy or that "Tom would never allow..." are taking Ls all over the place. I think they should reevaluate the last two albums (cause they're good!) and re-think their positions.
You Don’t Know What You’ve Got is another meh track alongside Fell In Love for me. It’s all about More Than You Know and Dance With Me as far as singles go IMO
Everyone dismissing California and Nine JUST BECAUSE Tom isn't there is just the laziest point of view ever. If you gave it a fair shake and it's not for you, fine. But those that dismiss it just because Skiba is there instead just irritates me.
"Edging" is still my least favorite of the songs released so far other than the way Tom pronounces 'you' and 'true' in the first verse of "Fell In Love"
I dismiss California because its a bad album. Nine is fine (heey). I think it is also fine to not want to listen to the music because of Skiba. He fucking sucks.
Don’t understand how anyone can hear Mark sing in detail about his chemotherapy, his struggle with cancer, the fear of saying goodbye to his loved ones and call this song generic. (targeted more towards the Reddit folks)
I enjoyed a few songs off California (Cynical, Los Angeles, Kings, Left Alone, and Rabbit Hole) but could not get into Nine at all. I tried.. I really did.. I just personally think it’s awful lol
I respect the subject matter greatly and Mark being vulnerable. I like the verses and would rank this behind Dance but the chorus just felt lackluster to me.
I did say that on first listen the chorus struck me as a touch generic. This doesn't mean I think it's bad, per se, and in fact I thought it worked in the context of the song. In any case, I wasn't referring to the subject matter at all!
that makes sense, I’m more just getting brain rot from reading the Reddit page… biggest mistake of my life haha
I saw someone say that this, MTYK, and One More Time all sound like different versions of the same song.
