    Trusted

    I liked it yesterday.

    I absolutely LOVE IT today.

The tempo in chorus is also very Cure.
Only thing I’d see there is the signature Cure ,,bass&guitar” tone but I know I would asking for too much haha

it also reminds me The Rest Of My Life from Less Than Jake in some way.

Just jammed all 5 songs on a quick errand. Edging is still easily the weakest for me. It feels like it could easily go on California or Nine. Besides Tom yelling “shit” going into that last chorus, it doesn’t really have his stank on the song. I mean stank in a good way, I swear haha! The other four all feel more distinctly blink with Tom. That makes them all more exciting to me. FIL is fun. DWM is also fun and catchy. OMT is a vibe and feelings. MTYK is just cool and blink firing on all cylinders. I do still like Edging. I just think it’s the most generic song when it comes to having the blink vibe.

I just think the production on some of these songs sound too "clean" and cookiecutter - like a Nickelodean-esque, "Big Time Rush" sorta production lol. The sound isn't raw enough to me. If that makes any sense. I'm likely just insane.

I felt similarly with Avril Lavigne's new music that was also produced by Travis

  4. "Raw" Blink-182 was Neighborhoods ... and it wasn't very good. Make that shit as shiny as Enema all day every day.

There's a difference between enjoying the songwriting and enjoying the kind of sound to it though. I'm not saying I don't enjoy these new singles. I'm sure I'm going to love the album. I just wish it was a little less polished.

I would argue that these songs are "shinier" than Enema by quite a lot

I'd say Neighborhoods was... unfinished. Enema even has a raw-ish quality to it (recording to tape!) when compared the the ultra polish of the Skiba era.

I mean Untitled has a much more raw sound to it and is considered one of their best albums , no need to bring up a controversial album like Neighborhoods

(and no, I'm not saying that the songwriting itself has to sound like Untitled. I'm okay with a more classic blink sound)

  8. I find this so funny to hear people say given what people said about Enema when it came out.

Haha I didn't know anyone disliked it when it came out. My first blink record in 4th grade that I loved immediately XD

  12. It was panned by some people (and critics) as "over produced."

No hate! I dig most of his productions, including his work with Blink. Doesn’t it mean it’s not ultra polished, which is what I called it.

The only thing lacking to me was attention to detail/variation with guitar tones on California which they remedied and then some on Nine

Agree 1000%. Easily my biggest gripe with California and glad there was variety on Nine.

What exactly do people want from blink other than a dumb catchy pop punk banger? I’ve really dug all the tracks so far.

Lol just saw someone on Reddit say they'd love to hear Tom sing No Heart To Speak Of. No waaaayyy could he handle those choruses, Skiba refused to play it for a reason
