I want my first experience to be someone's hand-scrawled cassette tape I found in a gutter somewhere.
There's no way they're not going to drop one more song, especially with still one month left in the album rollout at least
Very happy I only listened to the clips once through and now these new songs twice. I'm trying my darnedest to keep everything as fresh as possible. EDGING was impossible to avoid on radio so I've kinda let that run considering it's lifetime
Yeah, I'm going to try to limit listens for the next few weeks. Since it's such a quick lead up, and I'm busier than ever, I think I can manage the wait pretty well.
I've listened to both songs like 5 times each, and watched the music video twice. I think I'm going to try and not listen anymore. Just a little less than a month to go!
I haven't listened to Edging since the week it came out. Glad these two songs are much better. I'm still not blown away like I want to be though
This double bass part is so sick. imo it’s corny when fall out boy or adtr do the double bass in poppier songs. Sounds so good as an element of this song without bashing you over the head with it. way cooler than i expected. I think this is going to be one of travis’s best albums musically. the parts haven’t been as complex, but they sound so good.
I'm guessing the other single will be Anthem Pt 3, which is going to be tough to avoid listening to. The only appropriate way to listen to that song is by pressing play on the album on the 20th.
I actually really enjoy it when bands release singles in their album order starting with the first track. It makes that first listen much more enjoyable as it flows with how you've listened to it for weeks/months.
I hate hearing the opening or closing track before release. Hitting play on a new album should be experiencing something new, at least the first track.
I feel sometimes when a band chooses the first song on the album as their first single, it implies that the rest of the album isn't good enough to promote. That's because I feel that the first song on the album should be a band firing out of the gate on all cylinders, and I also feel the first single should be the same, so if the song pushed is one and the same, that to me is a little foreboding.
I think it’s going to be dance with me. Anthem might not have the mass appeal. After releasing a softer song and a barn burner yesterday, I think it’ll be a mid tempo one
My speculation is based on Anthem Pt 3 is the only other song with a track length announced. Hoping you're right!
I don’t agree that it implies anything about the other songs, but I agree that first tracks are important.
Honestly couldn’t tell you which song I love more between the two released yesterday. I am so glad they took so much time on this album, together. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that we’re in for a huge treat.
