I'm very curious what Tim Armstrong contributed to get a co-writing credit on a 27-second 'song' (Fuck Face).
Go look how many co-writers are on Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You considering his whole schtick is he’s a muppet with an acoustic guitar
Shut up You talk too much, you talk too much, you talk too much Shut up You talk too much, you talk too much, you talk too much Shut up You talk too much, you talk too much, you talk too much Shut up You talk too much, you talk too much, you talk too fucking much
I'd argue that Blink only used 7 outside co-writers on this new album. Nick Long (Dance With Me, Fell In Love, Edging) Ryan Tedder (Fell In Love, Cut Me Off) Andrew Goldstein (One More Time, Cut Me Off, See You) Brian Lee (Turn This Off, When We Were Young, Childhood) Dan Book (Edging) Michael Pollack (You Don't Know What You've Got) Aldae (One More Time, See You) Tim Armstrong and Travis wrote "Fuck Face" together for a separate project, originally, so that's a different scenario. Aaron Rubin co-produced the album, so it makes sense that he'd have a co-writing credit since I'm sure he suggested Tom try different guitar chords here and there, etc. Robert Smith didn't sit in the room and help them write "Fall In Love." Travis decided to sample a Cure song, so they gave Robert credit for that, even though Robert told Travis that he didn't need to.
The numbers are low because Spotify only tracks plays longer than 30 seconds. Both joke songs are less than that, so technically it's not keeping track. Those low numbers are for instances where people paused and rewind the song through the playthrough.
I did not know that, thank you. I still hope they drop them regardless as I think they're weak, but it's maybe not as bad as I thought.
I enjoy both of the joke songs. They're at least miles better than "Brohemian Rhapsody" and "I Can't Get You More Pregnant"
I Can't Get You More Pregnant would get a Twitter Community Note if it was released today and that thought amuses me.
Maybe it’s just me but I never listened to a song and decided whether or not I liked it based on who/how many people wrote it.
Feel bad, I completely stopped listening to the new Menzingers and still haven't checked out new Gaslight but all I want to listen to is new blink!
