I wish I could get my hands on some of the stems and split tracks they use for the atmos stuff. Literally the only thing making it remotely difficult to learn some of these songs on guitar is simply not being able to hear what's going on exactly. There are like four+ guitars, synths, samples, etc. stacked in every song. Having even just the guitar stems would be great, but then having them split between multiple channels would be even better.

I would be okay with bands releasing stems (100 gecs has done this and so did circa via patreon I believe) as a way to let fans remix or learn parts and play along but not as a way for fans to “improve” how an album is mixed

as much as I bitch and moan about the state of modern music discussion I always grin from ear to ear when an album like this comes along that a whole bunch of us really connect to and can’t stop pouring over for more details and nuances, the community event type albums are why I still have faith in this type of forum

It's really exciting when you can collectively jump on a piece of media upon release in general. Really felt the same way when Tears Of The Kingdom dropped and Spider-Man 2

If I got those stems, I would do an AI remix album "What if Travis sang every song?"

Yea, when we can basically all agree in loving something, the thread is always so so good.

They will never play it live but that synth part would sound so awesome live. Reminds me of that reggie and the full effect song

I could really see “See You” as the album closer but only if “Childhood” didn’t exist. But it does, sooo haha

on that note I want to personally thank @Jason Tate for keeping this place afloat over the last several years god knows the music internet has gone to shit and really just the internet in general but I’ve had a blast these last few days sinking my teeth into this album (which I had extremely low expectations for!) and getting blown away and being able to share my joy for it with everyone here. that review you wrote went a long way in convincing me to give it a fair shake and I will never forget the time in 2011 when I won tickets for the St. Louis show of their tour that year because of a write up I did on how that show was the last show I would be seeing before leaving for college, it’s just beautiful how we all grew up with this band in completely different ways but also in ways that are extremely universal and relatable that make us all feel welcomed and a part of something bigger. I was having a rough week and got really sick and was down in the dumps a bit but the last few days have really helped lift my spirit up so once again thank to Jason and everyone here for making this website what it is

blink were my absolute favourite band growing up but I barely listened to them the past few years (2020 lockdowns got me on a nostalgia trip listening to old favourites again). It's been so much fun getting back into them, Tom coming back, this album rollout, seeing them live again for the first time in 11 years and then really enjoying this album.

A second and very hearty “here here” from me on this. This record and these forums make me excited to get on the Internet again.

Not even porn can make that claim.

A good reminder as well that if you didn’t blink at paying for these two bonus tracks, a premium membership to Chorus is way less money (per month) AND helps keep the lights on.

I’ve been going back to their old stuff for the first time in ages now too and falling back in love the way I did when I was a kid, I always forget how huge enema, take off your pants, and self titled all were for me at a very young age but when I flip any of those records on I’m instantly transported back and am digging up memories I’d long since forgotten, or so I thought. It’s a beautiful feeling

They were so big for me as they got me in to so much music that I love now, like by having Robert Smith on a song and Tom always namedropping bands like Fugazi and Refused. It fills me with nostalgia thinking about before youtube was a thing (maybe we didn't even have internet in our house yet) and i'd spend hours watching the rock music channels on tv to wait for the WMAA or ATST videos to come on so i could hear the songs haha.

These bonus tracks are GREAT. hope they make their way to streaming (I'm assuming this will happen whenever they decide to release a deluxe version though lol)
