The drums being too loud on this album and these amateur remixes being a complete disrespectful nuisance can both be true at the same time. I see absolutely nothing wrong with displaying a preference about mixing/production - it's part of the whole presentation. Shit like this ruins that discourse. It's like, you can think a painting is ugly but don't start adding your own shittier paint.
I still like it but yea I kinda agree. Compared to the rest of the songs it seems just a little half baked maybe? Even then The chorus will still get stuck in my head sometimes though haha
There's been a trend of releasing deluxe versions on streaming services the past few years. So we'll probably get these two new songs on Friday... perhaps? Or perhaps a little later.
Yeah it stands out in the worst way possible. Clearly something they threw together for the announcement.
There are plenty of creative endeavors that benefit from having a lower barrier to entry but mixing and master is NOT one of them lol
My seven year old daughter has seen blink four times, though obviously the last tour was the first time she saw them with Tom. Her favorite, number one with a bullet song on the new album is Fell In Love. She sings it with me every night before we fall asleep. Thankfully the edited version on Apple Music bleeps out some stuff and she can’t understand Tom anyway, so I sing, “how could I ever forget, laying in your bed, staying up all night, it’s messing with my head,” and she is crystal clear sure that those are the words. They definitely aren’t only writing songs for people in their 20s and 30s. And I’ve made glorious peace with that.
WWWY is a highlight here lol. I think the Mark verse sounds a little phoned in actually, like work/jerk really? but the chorus and that crazy wind tunnel synth in the bridge absolutely rip
I don't like how Tom sings the chorus haha. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe the song as a whole will grow on me eventually, but it hasn't yet.
