That's awesome!! My brother lives around the corner so I'll prob just sleep there after and avoid driving/hotels so that allowed me to throw it on my c/c and splurge. I went with GA pit. I've never seen them in the pit and figured fuck it - since finally there was an alternate site to buy tickets beyond ticketmaster I didn't get destroyed by dynamic pricing (on top of the fees).
Yeah I was shocked at how cheap the non-field seats were. If I had FU money I would go nuts but just excited to see them with Tom for the first time in 10 years and see them at Fenway.
Yup I'm absolutely pumped for it! I've never seen a show at Fenway, but funny enough we might end up at 2 this summer with Noah Kahan playing days before blink
Said it before and I'll say it again: fuck ticketmaster I love how they punish true fans with this shit - You'd think I would've learned my lesson and waited for prices to drop but nope! I'm in for 7 tickets for Hartford because better seats kept being made available after I bought shittier ones.
milwaukee pit secured. was in and out in 30 seconds never even saw a queue number. said it was my turn right as it hit 10am. $300 after fees is crazy tho
I'm fully expecting to either have to pay $200 or $600. Is it too early in the morning to start taking shots in preparation?
Lower bowl tickets secured for GVegas! Can’t fucking wait and so glad that this show is indoors in late July.
Such a fun album. I really start to absolutely love One More Time, Blink wave is perfect, reminds me of Friday Night by The Cure, I really like Fell In Love too, it works perfect as a third song, I thought Dance With Me would bore me from time to time but it’s still so good, the last two songs are perfection, and More Than You Know has my favorite Tom chorus song since Always. Maybe What You’ve Got is a bit repetive and Edging is just ok for me, but other than that, perfect rock and roll album. Nobody does it like they do.
This is kinda funny. I think the simple truth is that I just fundamentally have a different philosophy on what I think a "critic" or "review" should be. I am far more interested in something like Ebert's approach about trying to explain to someone what the artist is doing by putting it in context with history, the artist's history/catalog, looking at intent, being aware of attention to genre, he often said, "Your intellect may be confused, but your emotions will never lie to you." He valued personal, emotional reactions to films and encouraged critics to embrace this. By and large it's why I dislike so many reviews, I find them hollow, cold, and more often than not these days (looks at YouTube videos), built to chase views. It's a game, and I find so much of that dishonest and not actually engaging with the music/movie/whatever in a way that's all that interesting to me. A list of things the album does and saying it's bad isn't very interesting to me, but, again, I think my entire philosophy of wanting to to see the emotion behind why someone feels one way or another about art is at odds with current internet economics and writing styles. Just me, but I think a lot about what Generative AI can do. I think they can write 90% of that Pitchfork review with the right prompts and background information fed to it. To me (again, this is just my personal opinion on the matter) I find that ... depressing and when true, not worth writing.
Yeah I’ve never seen a concert at Fenway either. Super pumped. Hope they have a huge blink logo on the Green Monster.
was quite easy for me too, it said there were 90 people in front of me and 30 seconds later i was able to choose tix. much better than trying for Chicago last year. ended up finding a face value day of for that show and paid $300 for a 100 level seat.
