Still think my two favorites are "Turpentine" and "Bad News", but I'm not going to lie, "When We Were Young" has been growing on me like crazy. I wasn't that impressed when I heard the clip of it, but I find myself repeatedly singing that chorus and going back to that one a lot. "You Don't Know What You Got" is also very underrated.
Yea, Childhood has become one of my favorites after spinning the album all weekend. I lost my mom earlier this year and I’m moving back to where I grew up within the next couple weeks, FINALLY. But the past few months have been overwhelmingly emotional and nostalgic going through all the paperwork she had and things she had kept. Won’t bore you all with the details, but I had other traumatic losses and had to grow up faster than most people out of necessity. Part of my childhood was lost. With all these memories floating around and the whole “where did our childhood go? I wanna know,” it all just easily combines together and I feel a lot of feelings when the track comes on. I think I’d say it’s my new top favorite on the album now. Sorry, Bad News, I have some bad news for you.
Yeah I couldn’t finish Jason’s review. My best friend who introduced me to blink in middle school back in ‘98 just passed away 2 weeks. Too heavy for me to get through that at the moment
I can’t remember if you’ve shared this before or I’ve said this before, so my apologies if so, but I’m very sorry for your loss, Greg.
I had the whole blink discography on random today and the songs from ONE MORE TIME… absolutely fit in with any of their previous songs from other albums. Going from The Rock Show to Dance With Me to Wendy Clear to Blink Wave didn’t feel out of place at all. Weirdly when any of the Skiba Era songs came on it kind of stuck out to me and I had to do a double take.
Sorry to hear about your mom Greg. I'm glad to hear this song is resonating with you based on the things you've been through. Growing up and feeling the loss of things can be hard. Glad blink-182 have done it with us, and are able to give us these feelings again through these songs.
It’s weird I couldn’t find it in Apple Music either. So I went on the ITunes Store, it’s about halfway down the albums list with a button to listen to on Apple Music
My friend told me this the other night at beers. Despite most people's feelings about Neighborhoods, he says it needed/needs to exist, for this to hit/slap as hard as it does.
If you go to the album on Apple Music and scroll to the bottom it’ll show other versions of the album and the clean version is there.
The only skip for me is still One More Time. As a long time blink fan (more than 20 years now), it should bring some emotion but it's too cheesy. EDIT : the song reminds me of a TSSF acoustic ballad, which are by far their worst songs.
If blink/AOF are actually touring together and it hits Toronto, that’s going to be a very difficult ticket to get considering AOF can sell out the 16k amphitheatre here on their own no problem lol
