These are the songs I love: - Anthem Part 3 - Dance With Me - Terrified - More Than You Know - Turn This Off! - You Don’t Know What You’ve Got - Bad News - Turpentine - Other Side These are the songs I really like: - One More Time - When We Were Young - Blink Wave - Childhood These songs are also good: - Edging - Fell in Love - Hurt - Fuck Face This album has no bad songs.
This. I love Blue Sky Noise by Circa Survive and cannot hear why people take issue with the production even now, but on here it’s always been raised as a thing.
I love Childhood so much. More than I thought I would on its first listen. Agree with those saying Other Side is a sleeper. Pure Mark, evoking feelings of the best of what he does. Bad News still isn't landing with me, which sucks because I see/understand the big love for it. I'm putting it in the same league as MH from Neighborhoods, a good Mark song, but by no means a standout. I know this might be a take, and I still do enjoy it, hoping it grows the more time I spend with it. The background guitars of Hurt (Interlude) remind me of the segues on LOVE Pt. 1, which is to me, not a bad thing, and I'm glad the song sits where it sits. And agree with all the consensus about Anthem Pt. 3, Turpentine, Blink Wave, etc. All just awesome listening. I love this album. I really do.
I remember when people were talking about Tom not being able to sing Skiba songs or something to the effect of could never write something like No Heart To Speak Of Feel like Turpentine is that song for Tom. So good.
I love Turpentine, but it’s a little perplexing how so many are saying Mark’s verse is the highlight, and it’s like the worst part of the song (still good, but don’t see it as the highlight). Mark’s bridge on You Don’t Know What You’ve Got, on the other hand….
I think my favorite thing about Turpentine is how playful they are with it. Doesn’t take itself seriously, but also rips? All “joke” songs going forward should do what they’re doing here.
There is something about Turpentine I can’t describe. The way it make me feel.Definitely the most interesting (And also one of the best) song on the album.
Tom somehow makes all his lyrics work on that song, but still no idea how Mark would get called the worst part of the song lol there's no worst part of the song
Childhood. Childhood Childhood Childhood. Can't stop thinking about this song and how it's connecting with me. Might be my favourite album closer of theirs. I go back to Jason's review and the passage of time and how this band lands with our core memories. I'm 33 now and this song's just doing it as I look back on my years with this band and how all my friendships fit into it. Tom's "who the fuck are we?" is hitting.
You Don’t Know What You Got is up there for me on this album. Mark’s lower vocals during the verses, the lyrics, the bridge, and that catchy chorus (even if a little repetitive). I mean I legit only watched the teaser 2-3 times and that chorus stayed in my head since.
