Pretty sure @Jason Tate confirmed a weeks ago with a text that Edging was remixed. Dunno why y'all arguing about it when it did happen.
I can't help but sing " I guess so much for my happy ending," at the end of the Bad News chorus. Help.
I listened to this on a run this morning and had a blast with it. A few things still don’t work for me – some of the less serious songs and Hurt, the track listing still feels a bit disjointed in spots, and Terrified is good but feels out of place (that could be a track listing issue) – but overall I love it and those are really just nitpicking.
I think Anthem 1 is the closest we've gotten before, with the "humped the dog" and "I wish my friends were 21" comedically punctuating a largely genuine song about teen rebellion and disillusionment. But honestly I think that's always been the glory of blink's music. Even if the way they're expresssing themselves is juvenille, the feelings they're expressing are very real. 'Dysentery Gary' might be the silliest song on EOTS, but the "Fuck this place, I lost the war, I hate you all, your mom's a whore" not only spoke to my preteen isolation and angst, but was able to make me laugh through it. There's something magic to that.
can anyone figure out the "trampoline" lyric near the end of Turpentine? the vinyl lyric sheet said "lift me like the trampoline" and the lyric video said "like me like the trampoline" and I'm not convinced either of those are correct my best guess is "leapt me like a trampoline" but I dunno
I am not a scholar of it or anything, but Edging sounds *clearly* different and much more detailled than when it first came out. It's not night and day but definitely apparent.
Yea, when I’m in the mood for blink, but not in a mood for a full discog run, this album will absolutely be an option I go to often.
Still feels absolutely surreal to be listening to a new Blink record that feels this good and this fresh.
I watched Monsters of California this past week while sick with Covid and I really enjoyed it. It reminded of Goosebumps or something along those lines.
Otherside is a fucking hit also lol are they really saying "my old shit ends here tonight"? been hearing "my ocean" since release and thinking that was surprisingly poetic for them
