LETS RANK THE OPENING RIFFS IN ANTHEM PT 3: 1!.0:19 to 0:36 (the hammer-on riff) 1. 0:00 to 0:18 (the picking riff) 1A. 0:37 to 0:56 (the blast beats riff)
I have a spare copy of the electric smoke pressing that I need to get rid of, if anyone’s interested?
I have nothing new to add, but I would just like to echo that I'm thankful that this album exists and is awesome and genuine as it is. To have new Blink songs as strong as Anthem Part 3, Terrified, More Than You Know, Blink Wave, Bad News, Turpentine, and Other Side is just amazing. @Jason Tate your review speaks to so many of us who grew up with this band, thank you for putting in the effort to accurately capture those moments and feelings into words.
So what does the next tour setlist look like? i really hope it’s most of this album break greatest hits
@Jason Tate review ripped. swap out a couple of friends names, the blink album i found in a friends collection, and rendition of a blink universe song at my wedding. \mmm/
Remember hearing a new blink album and having to talk yourself into liking several songs? No shades of this feeling… anywhere. 36 hours in and it’s still perfect.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but the people who have been trashing OMT and saying it’s not as good as Neighborhoods have to be trolls. I legit can’t even comprehend thinking that.
the lyrics on Neighborhoods are for sure better. but that album is a disjointed mess. At least they sound consistent on OMT and like they’re having fun
Lillian has been my favorite untouchable Mark bridge. YDKWYG isn’t as good imo but damn it sure holds a candle to it in a way no blink song has since. So many moments on this record that continue to blow my mind on repeat listens. Got my album launch run in last night. Childhood wrapped up, anthem kicked in and I just kept running through a second listen. there’s no chance any other album gets #1 on spotify wrapped based on day one listens
The neighborhoods hate is so funny to me you’d think it’s trash top to bottom. I’d probably scrap like…4 songs from the deluxe version tops?
Yup, the bridge in YDKWYG is a quintessential, classic Blink moment. One of many highlights on this album.
The chugging/Palm muted guitar breakdown towards the end of Otherside (1:20) reminds me of First Date a little bit
imo it’s kind of silly to stack a record that had been 24 hours to music that has defined eras of your life. one of the best parts of having a favorite band for years is the comfort in familiarity. personally i’ll be happily ripping every song front to back for a good while.
