You Don’t Know What You’ve Got - 8/10 Lyrics really hit home here. Mark absolutely killed this. The bridge is spectacular
Blink Wave - 6/10 I don’t think I’m as high on this on first listen as a lot of people. Not really necessarily what I want blink to sound like, and that’s perfectly okay. I love that one of my favorite bands is willing to step out of their box like this. Good song
Probably my 4th post about the same song but WHAT THE FUCK IS BLINK WAVE! Ultimately the most blink, blink song ever. It makes me so happy.
I just read the reviews on rateyourmusic. God some of their users seem pretentious. https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/blink-182/one-more-time-2/
Regarding the Dolby Atmos mix: overall I like it. It sounds better than a lot Atmos mixes I've heard, and you can really here some of the instrumentals that are buried in the normal mix, along with vocal harmonies being isolated so you can hear Mark and Tom separately. I appreciate the Atmos version for that reason the most. Big gripe: how did Mark's "Whoa Whoa" disappear on the Atmos version?! Fairly certain this happens on other parts of the album, but I've had Childhood on repeat, so it sticks out here. His vocal just cuts out completely. Odd.
All of their users are pretentious. Pretty sure it's a requirement in the terms of service that your nose has to reach a certain height in the air to post there.
Bad News - 8/10 I can hear the NFG comparison here for sure. So glad Mark and this band still have a song like this in them after all these years. Super fun track
Holy shit, they fucking did it... this was incredible. Even just off one listen this is at LEAST in my top three Blink albums Anthem Part 3, Terrified, Blink Wave... I was going to list more but realized I was just doing almost the whole album lol. Those are definitely the three non-singles that I loved the most on first listen though. Even the singles, which I already absolutely loved, sound even better in the context of the album; Dance With Me and More Than You Know are two of their best songs ever I could not be fucking happier with this. This is the best Tom has sounded in 20 years, Mark brought it like always, and Travis brought it all together flawlessly
Turpentine - 9/10 Okay this one kind of floored me. Kind of feel like this song perfectly blends every era of this band, but also still somehow manages to feel fresh. The end is hilarious lol
Other Side - 8/10 This feels like it’s going to be the Here’s Your Letter of this album and be criminally underrated. I really enjoyed this one
Childhood - 7/10 I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that. Never really expected blink to write a song like this. Like this a lot as a closer
Oh, man. I’m hearing the same thing! Strange. Also, it’s odd that five or six tracks don’t have Atmos versions. Plenty of instances where only a few songs (singles mostly) only have Atmos, but there doesn’t seem to be any pattern here with the majority being Atmos versions but not all. I was looking forward to hearing the difference on Anthem Part 3, but that song is only available Lossless. Hmm
So many of these songs make me feel like I’m catching up with an old friend. I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s like an old/familiar feeling but new all at the same time. It’s actually pretty magical haha.
it grew in me big time and i liked it at first! I really enjoy it more in context and I’ve been going back to it more. I do think it comes too early in the track-listing though. Tom sounds great on it!
