No way I’m reading all of these comments but Brad do you honestly think this is some kind of high art that requires intentionality and mediation lmao
I’m not super into a lot of this, but the whole thing is worth it just for Anthem Part 3 and Terrified. Damn those songs are good
What? haha You don't have to stare at your speakers and focus 100%, but if you have music on in the background while you're talking on the phone or whatever, then how can you say "Meh, this album wasn't very good"?
Nobody is claiming that it is high art. We are a bunch of fans that have emotionally connected to this band and we are all just stoked that they are back. I know that's a shocking concept in the actual thread dedicated to the album.
Of course not! But I don't think just high art deserves attention. People consume music in loads of different ways. Personally I like to put my headphones on and do nothing else on my first listen.
Damn, my record isn’t arriving until Wednesday. Even though it doesn’t affect my listening habits, I’m so tired of this happening with every album I preorder. I really need to keep this in mind the next time I want to preorder something that I could just as easily pick up from the record store on release day.
Not sure if it's already been talked about, but there's tons of lyric videos on YouTube, and those lyrics seem to be better/more accurate than what else is out there. The other lyric videos, stall lyrics, album insert, etc. all seemed to be off.
Maybe read the comment you initially responded to Brad instead of getting mad at something that he didn’t say
Lol the people who love the album are the ones coming after everyone else, then they turn around and say “I’m just excited, is that a crime?!?!?!?”
Turpentine and Bad News are some of the best songs from Mark and Tom in 20 years. The rest, I didn’t care for
In Turpentine, does Tom say "blah blah blah blah blah fuck" or "fuck me" - I'd think it'd be "fuck me" to stick the rhyme, but I can't tell with the overlapping "Wash yourself with turpentine."
