Look I get virtually 99 percent of this forum likes to shit on Neck Deep and that's fine but this is also a site for O P I N I O N S With that said, in MY opinion, I think the song is quite enjoyable and catchy. The lyrical content is based off having a kick ass girlfriend. Wow, pop punk trying to write happy shit for once. What a concept. My girlfriend is awesome. Some of the song makes me think of her. And guess what? Neck Deep is her favorite band. Does she know of the drama from 2015? Sure does. Think she cares? Not one damn bit. I'm not gonna join this bullshit groupthink that the band sucks based on all the rumors and drama that surrounds them from like 1% of the pop punk fanbase. If that makes me unlikeable on this forum, big deal. I post often, I enjoy this site, and I enjoy the majority of the community. I think me supporting a band that is on a large arena tour right now and IMPROVING as an artist in the genre shouldn't be frowned upon. Tl;dr I like Neck Deep and I'm not afraid to admit that
I thought Ben's voice improved. He wouldn't have been able to hit the high range a few years ago if not for a song like In Bloom. So that was helpful. I mean jesus, people still like A Part Of Me and Ben sounds like shit on that song. I'll add that I do believe Neck Deep has MUCH better songs. But this single works for me, and I think the song has been generally well received by their fanbase. If there is anything in my post that showed me being "mad" it was more me being frustrated with how people just blindly hate them based off issues from 4+ years ago.
Does being depressed also mean you’re a piece of shit or something? Can’t tell what person is trying to say
I'm not denying your first statement. I fail to see how anything I have said in the past 10 minutes results in me being a "creep"
This does not qualify me as a creep. I am 28. A little older than most of this forum. Most pop punk fans are generally "sad bois" and my original comment was an attempt to make a joke toward that style of music fan. Clearly it went over most of this forums' head.
You’re dismissing the serious allegations against three of the band’s then-members (one of which is still in the band) as “issues from 4+ years ago” that people should just get over. Not to mention Ben’s documented history of problematic statements on twitter. Call that whatever you want I guess.
If I come off as "dismissing" the allegations, I apologize. I am not trying to offend those who dislike Neck Deep. It upsets myself, as a fan of said band, that people choose to disassociate or support them, due to allegations that have since been essentially erased (member kicked out, Ben not tweeting dumb shit lately) in my eyes. This is a different situation to me than say, with Moose Blood. They are/were also shunned from this forum for similar (but worse) allegations and it resulted in them taking a break and leaving the scene, even after taking steps to address said allegations. I like(d) them as well, and even bought a ticket to their headliner to support them, as I knew they would not be around by the end of 2018. They deserved consequences from their actions and felt them. I do not believe Neck Deep deserves the same fate.
I don’t know that 28 is really older than most on here. Lol. But hey, if that’s another killer stance you wanna take… that’s your right.
If I recall correctly they were trying to coerce a fan into sending them nudes? And it was everyone except the singer who were involved? And one of them is still in the band (the drummer I believe)? So they abused their platform, only one guy was kicked out because of it (the other left for different reasons from what I remember), and the third guy is still there. So yeah they still “deserve the same fate” as Moose Blood. And nobody really cares at all about your frustration that there are people trying to hold them accountable for it. Keep it to yourself. Also Moose Blood took zero steps to make amends, they threatened to sue and then turned tail like the cowards they are when their third album bombed.
I disagree still with your second paragraph, and I won't be able to change your argument. Nor will it change anyone's opinion reading this thread today. It's clear I am in the minority for supporting Neck Deep and their new song. Moose Blood's 3rd album was going to be received poorly no matter what. They were too deep into their own mistakes. I enjoyed the album, but I understand being in the minority there too.
Chorus still posts Neck Deep news so you've got more company than you might think supporting Neck Deep. Also, interesting some of the same people criticizing you for supporting Neck Deep financially support a website promoting their music...
