I like Edging. A lot actually. That being said - when Tom says that theyve made the best blink album ever, I dont think a song like Edging would be on an album that by that logic would have to be better than self titled. Even if they were going the more traditional blink sound then it would need to be better than Enema or TOYPJ and I still dont see Edging fitting in there. Im happy to be proven wrong as maybe itll make more sense in the context of the full album, but this has been bugging me ever since Tom said that.
Edging isn't bad, it's just kinda boring. It was definitely obvious when it was played alongside the rest of their catalogue during the Coachella shows. I'd say that I expected more from their return with Tom again in terms of a single, but Neighborhoods was kind of boring too. The only solid single to me since self-titled was "Bored to Death" which they seemingly are acknowledging is good considering they're sound checking it even tho Tom had nothing to do with the song. I'm just happy that Tom sounds relatively good live again. Never thought it would happen.
I’m glad they’re playing Cynical live. It and Rabbit Hole are my two favorite songs of the Matt era, and probably my favorite post self titled Blink songs altogether.
She tried to pray it away so i fucked her in church. I know there's a special place in hell that my friends and I know well. Classic blink-182.
Blink has never before been overtly against religion so I wouldn’t say classic blink. “God has a master plan and I guess I am in his demand”
