I'd be completely shocked if Feldmann didn't produce their next album. The band really seemed to like working with him and the album was a success I don't see why they would change anything.

Mark referred to him as a "Dear friend" last night. The new album was wildly successful.

he's here to stay. I'd actually be surprised if John left before Matt at this point.

I like darker Mark. Stockholm Syndrome, Here's Your Letter, Cynical, San Diego, Adam's Song, I'll take those over California, Kings of the Weekend or She's Out of Her Mind. Lyrically, at least. Definitely won't miss joke songs if they abandon them.

Completely random thought concerning the negativity surrounding the fact that they had outside writing influences on the California album; both 'Easy Target' and 'All of This' were based on experiences from Jerry Finn's teenage years. Safe to say he was more than somewhat instrumental in writing both of those songs. I don't think people fully recognize the extent of Jerry's impact in those pre-break up years

California finally grew on me, although not to the point where I think I'd put it on by itself, but when the songs pop up on shuffle they're enjoyable.

    I want/need a deluxe edition.

2017 will be interesting to see what they do for the 25th anniversary of the band.

DED vinyl still sounds possible, just not... probable? Would really love to get that pressed. I think we could easily, but it's self released, so we'd just need the three band member's approval?

Totally fine with Feldmann and I've hated the majority of his production work. With each album you're going to see Matt work more of his influence into each album now that he's been welcomed into blink, so their albums are only going to get better.

Yeah the two biggest complaints I've seen about California were it was "rushed" and they had "co-writers".

All of blink's past full length albums, minus the untitled, have been done in a 3 month time frame. People also saying how Feldmann rushed them in writing songs forget that songs like Dammit, Going Away to College, Rock Show and First Date for examples were all written in a span of 15 minutes to 1 day.

The co-writers thing is silly too because like you mention Jerry Finn had tons of impact on the band and had a lot of influence on them. It's just that back in those days song writing credits were treated differently.

I want the Deluxe edition before the end of this post. You're slipping my friend....

  13. I still can't believe someone asked them what the "182" means lastnight...

Give me one hour with these guys and I will ask all the questions that us long-time fans want to know!

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I honestly hope they don't do anything for the Dude Ranch 20th anniversary next year. Only 1/3 of the Dude Ranch lineup is still in the band.

    They definitely won't.

They'll do 25 year posters and merch. Then maybe a small US tour after theUK/EU tour

  16. Yeah, I can definitely just see them banking on it through merch, unfortunately. How cool would it be though if Matt was off doing Alkaline Trio and Travis was off with Transplants or Antemasque, and Mark, Tom, and Scott got back together and performed Dude Ranch at a couple shows? hahaha... I'd be stoked on that, actually, although it'd NEVER happen, haha.

Yeah I can't really see them doing anything Dude Ranch related either.

To celebrate 25 years of blink it would be pretty cool if they did a short US tour before heading off to Europe and played some rare songs/songs they haven't played in years or ever. I'd love to hear them play songs like 21 Days, Wasting Time, Waggy, Lemmings, Roller Coaster, Please Take Me Home, Anthem, Going Away to College, Kaleidoscope, When I Was Young, new stuff from California. Basically play a few songs from each of their albums and not have it be another Greatest Hits set tour.

  20. Good lord. If they did a tour of "rarities", I'd buy a ticket immediately.

I have mixed feelings about that because Tom isn't in the band. My ideal setlist with Skiba and ideal one with Tom are very different. I'd love to hear When I Was Young and Anthem and stuff like that but idk it wouldn't feel right. I'd rather they play Online Songs and Going Away to College but I know not everyone will agree with me

  22. Seeing Blink without Tom definitely felt a little odd, and I think hearing this version of Blink playing older songs they don't normally play would be a nice treat, but wouldn't feel compleeeeetely right to me. BUT! I know that the opportunity would never come again, so if a rarities show happened, I wouldn't think twice. I'll take what I can get!

I agree with you. I think there are certain songs that although Tom sings I don't automatically associate him with and are certain songs that I find strange they're playing without him. If that makes sense.

"Not Now" and "Wishing Well" are songs I don't think they should be playing without Tom, especially "Wishing Well."

They're obviously free to play what they want, though.

  25. Their thought is probably "We are Blink-182 and this is a Blink-182 song."
