  1. I'll probably put she's out of her mind, bored to death, cynical, rabbit hole, and san diego on "best of blink-182" CDs/playlists forever now.

The only Neighborhoods songs I put on mixes are: up all night, hearts all gone, snake charmer, and after midnight. But if I'm in the mood, I sometimes throw on wishing well and even if she falls too.

That's a pretty easy list to agree with lol. I love the end of California but it still would be on there for me.

Yes, Skiba saves that song on the last chorus

Why does everyone hate "California"? I think that's one of their best songs since 2003

I don't hate it, but it's towards the bottom for me on this album

  7. it's just so dumb, lyrically, haha... maybe it's because i don't call California home, i dunno... but then again, if someone had a song about how great Utah is, i'd also laugh and give them a sarcastic thumbs up. i just think it's dumb, personally. and i think Mark sounds pretty bad on it... you can hear the autotune freaking out at parts.

Are there any blink-182 songs that aren't dumb/really bad lyrically? I don't listen to blink for lyrics haha, I just think the song sounds awesome and I admire them for doing something a bit different

  9. i also don't really pay attention or put much thought into a band's lyrics, but with this song (and pretty much the entire album), there isn't enough cool shit happening musically that it's hard to not focus my attention mainly on the vocal melodies and lyrics.

i think it all just comes down to personal taste on this song. i can see why people would like it, but to me, it comes across as silly. just not my jam... if it one day didn't exist, i wouldn't even be a little sad.

My least favourite song is "The Only Thing That Matters". That's not saying much though because I genuinely love this entire album. It's weird because I don't like Alkaline Trio at all and as I said earlier the only other blink album I enjoy is the S/T (one of my favourite albums period).

Especially that end bit. Pumps me up. My lull in the album is prob around track 8-10

I definitely go back to Neighborhoods more. The songs are better but the production sucks. If neighborhoods sounded like California, it'd be right up there with Untitled.

Stay Together For the Kids, Adam's Song... your point mostly stands, though.

I went back to neighborhoods recently on a road trip, and note I'm one of those who loved that album on its release. To me at least, California holds up better to me. There's like 5-6 songs on neighborhoods (natives, up all night, even if she falls, hearts all gone, and ghost) that I revisit and actually crave to revisit. California has like 9-12

cyncial, bored to death, los angeles, san diego, hey I'm sorry are the only tracks I will return to.

I still really love California but from the beginning, it was and still is completely at face value. I didn't expect anything other than exactly what it was. I'd echo the sentiment that I hope for the next one they trust themselves more in not letting Feldman if they work with him again, rush them and take the reigns so much. Slowly going back to their last album because everyone talks about it so much also led me to really listening to +44 for the first time and I'm ten years too fucking late but I love it and it's hard to tell lyrically that the same person wrote those songs and the ones on California. It's even funnier having gone back to it after hearing so many people complain about them not calling the new formation +44 because there's little about California that sounds like +44. Very distant cousins at best. In fact given how brooding and angsty it is I would now have actually preferred to have +44 over Blink because just thinking about Mark's angsty writing paired with Matt's angsty writing is almost too much for me to handle. If California as a whole was more like Hey I'm Sorry than the +44 comparisons would have made a shit ton of sense. Even though I don't like the sound of Neighborhoods, that too was miles better than California lyrically.

It seems like with this album they just weren't entirely sure of themselves and were looking for direction and for whatever reason found that in Feldman but I really really really hope that now that they've got the chemistry down they lead more on their own next time.

As someone that lives in the LA area I think it makes it even worse. It feels so trite, forced, and cliched to death.

Mark had nothing to lose with +44 and I think he sounded his best then. He said exactly what he wanted to say.

I definitely really like this album and would probably rank it as their fourth best but I also haven't listened to it in probably over a month

Went to the padres/dodgers game tonight and they played San Diego between innings. It was cool.

Just watched Travis' snaps, looks like they finally played She's Out Of Her Mind during the show. Haven't paid attention as much lately so idk if this is the first time or not.

They did and it was the first time. They also apparently played a mashup of bored to death with Steve Acki
