Only way I see that happening is if Skiba is busy with Alk and they do a reunion show or two with Tom. I don't see any new music or long tours coming with him. And while that's sad, it's also a good thing imo

 

I do but I don't see it.

 

Tom will be back in 2021 for the 10 year anniversary show for Neighborhoods which will take place on the moon and be released as a live album The Mark, Tom and Travis Show ON THE MOON!!!!!! available as a digital exclusive by To The Stars....

 

We'll see how the future pans out for blink and for Tom.

For right now, it's a great place for both parties. Blink is killing it on this album cycle and tour. They seem genuinely happy and this CD is doing well. The tour is doing great, too.

Tom is happy doing To The Stars stuff. And he will be happy for a while.

Speculation is fun, but also annoying as hell when people start spewing opinions as facts.

If Tom comes back? Great! But guess what? It won't be easy. Travis and Mark are very happy with the current state of blink. He could come back for one reunion tour date. Maybe a full reunion tour. Heck, maybe he'll record a new album with the guys. We'll never know. We'll see how this album cycle ends up and see where this leads the blink boys.

I am traveling for work and going from airport to airport. I'll try and upload it. It is part of the new Instagram update. The stories are at the top of the feed and only available for 24 hours. There is a good chance it has been pulled down. Will be interesting if they play SD tonight. Hope they play it when I see them on Oct 1.

 

I hope the album cycle ends with news of Trio going back into the studio.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matt stuck with Blink (ending Alkaline Trio). He's living his Hollywood dream now.

 

If Tom could do Angels and Airwaves stuff in between blink tours then I think Mark and Travis will be okay with Matt doing Trio. They can trust him to come back, at least.

(Fun fact I learned today: Matt apparently has a small role in The Dark Knight)

I'm sure they'd be okay with him doing it but at the same time I still bet he personally would want to stay in blink. Waaaaay bigger shows and audience to hear any new song he writes

 

There's no way. He's taking on a totally different role and isn't able to showcase his full potential in blink.

 

Weird to leave this thread for a while and come back to see everyone still talking about the same things, except tons of people are now just "meh" on California.

I loved that album for about 2 weeks (I was on vacation the first week of it, so I'll always love it for that memory), but after that it rotated back into the occasional workout playlist. I still like it a lot even though I don't really play it all that much now, but that's what I expected. I've never listened to blink for more than three weeks straight even back in the day. I still think some of those songs from the new album are some of the best they've ever done, which is a bigger compliment now that they've had time to digest.

 

Man, really weird how I'm probably one of the few people in this thread that still listens to California every day and I was one of the most trepidatious about it initially.

I don't listen to California every day, but it is weird to see some of the bigger blink fans in this thread not liking the album as much as I do, lol. I was really worried about how this album was going to turn out but I ended up really liking it. Even the joke songs are pretty good.

 

Yeah, he won't end Trio. I could see Dan taking a bigger share of writing maybe but that's it. He is always making music. Just cause he's in blink he's not going to start doing nothing in his off time.

 

Matt will probably do Alkaline Trio stuff while Travis does Transplants and/or Antemasque shit when Blink's tour is over.

 

Yeah, Blink and Alkaline Trio serve two totally different purposes and he has two totally different roles in each band. While I'm sure he'll be able to play a bigger part in Blink and their decisions as time goes on, Trio is pretty much "his" in the sense that he can do whatever he wants artistically and otherwise with it. The two don't really sound much alike and they function in two completely different ways. Considering he never really sat still creatively to begin with, I really don't see him giving up one for the other.

 

Don't know if it's already been posted but this interview was posted just yesterday and says SOOHM is the next single. Long shot but I still hope that isn't true, lol.

Is that article just quotes from different interviews copy and pasted in a random order? I feel I have read all of those before from other interviews. I wouldn't put too much stock in the She's Out of her Mind single rumor from that site.

 

No, it says it's from an interview conducted at the Dallas date of the tour.
