That should be a human quality, not a race one. You wouldn't believe how many POC Trump supporters I see.

  2. The joke songs don't offend me in anyway, if they offend people so be it. People have the right to be offended, but it seems like to me that the people who are offended are trying to take excitement away from others about the album. But I do think it's kind of silly people are making a big deal out of these songs.

I agree with you. I know I'm generalizing white people here, but the only people I come across that say the world is too "PC," are obliviously entitled white males.

Interesting, cause I hear it from a pretty diverse group of people. Not that is justifying anything.

  5. And personally I've heard more offensive songs before. For the love of god Nofx is more offensive.

  6. I don't see a single person that was surprised by them ... maybe one person that thought they had moved past that?

For someone who is so funny on Twitter I'm more offended that these were the best joke songs Mark could write.

  8. No one said differently? Did anyone say they're the most offensive songs in existence or no bands had more offensive music?

  10. No, but it certainly seems that way.

  11. How can it seem that way if it didn't happen?

I mean, I don't think I've seen anyone here maliciously trying to explain why past and present "jokes" are not viewed as okay or tolerable to some, while people on the opposite side of the fence have pretty much said "you're being too sensitive if you don't think it's funny and because it's happened before, that means it's okay. It's your fault for taking offense.". That's not really being tolerable or understanding at all, in fact that's pretty condescending and a form of gaslighting. And this is where fatigue and being uncomfortable in this general scene come in, because while there are people harping on about "respecting" everyone, usually what that means is "why are you bringing up things that make me question myself or become uncomfortable. I can't take criticism of something I like without internalizing it because that MUST mean I'm some type of way so instead of listening or simply not saying anything at all because this isn't an attack, I have to make things worse by defending it all. You're causing trouble and feeling the way you do is your own fault. This room full of people who are nothing like you are laughing, so why can't you?"

Maybe I'm going off on a tangent but it's so weird to see these things play out the same way almost every single time.

All humour is objective, no doubt. I think even if you personally have no problem with these themes though you could find compassion for those who do rather than label them kill joys. I don't think anyone here has taken offence to the songs in an effort to upset someone else?

Am I the only one who thinks the lyrics are based off of a funny typo?

Taken at face value with that in mind, the joke is amusing.

Also, it's not sexist or gendered in my book...you can put your finger inside male AND female humans.

I'm pretty much taking the joke songs as just being on the cd but they haven't used some tradition hidden song techniques like putting it after silence or as pre song minus time hidden tracks.
I just consider it for what it is. A couple bonus tunes on a 13-14 song cd

I typed three different things and I felt like I'd come across as insensitive no matter what. It's for the best.

welp, they played First Date in a 12 song set, guess that basically guarantees that's staying in the set for the tour. Happy to see that Josie is back though.

Obviously Skeebs is a very capable singer as he has proven. But I would've been very interested to see if they only picked a replacement guitarist who does backing harmonies and Mark sang all leads how it would sound (considering Skeebs voice isn't far removed for Hopp Doggs)

I often used to try in my head reverse Tommy and Marks vocals back in the day when listening

Having two vocalists who can sing and pronounce words properly is pretty cool.
