Damn, I almost thought this was serious!

 

TOYPAJ as a whole sounds massive.

 

I love it though. Listen to "Online Songs" and then "Natives" back-to-back. It's astounding how weak "Natives" sounds. I would much rather have something overproduced than something that lacks any sort of punch.

 

I mean, even that album is pretty damn polished. It's Trombino afterall, but it was 1997. It's pretty much as polished up as you could do for that era. And I like that sound too, I mean, 1997 was awesome.

 

I don't know where Tom gets off talking about Blinks legacy. Coming from the guy who didn't care enough to listen to the final mix of Neighborhoods and wore an Angels and Airwaves shirt on stage while playing with Blink. Don't get my wrong I'm not a Tom hater he was always my favourite member, but it's time for him to just go away and let these guys do their thing.

 

I'm honestly happy that the reunion happened because it led to Mark and Travis getting to keep the Blink name.

 

The same way I wish Not Now was on the US version of Untitled, I also wish Man Overboard made it on Enema. One of my favorite Blink songs.

 

Yeah I love Trombino's production. I mean Clarity is probably the prettiest sounding thing I've ever heard. I was wishing he'd do the new blink album somehow actually too haha. I'm not saying Dude Ranch was untouched or anything. Just the vocals aren't quite as fuzzy and "computery" as TOYPAJ. And the guitars are a little messier sounding for lack of a better word.

 

Remember way back when everyone and their mother "sold out" for the money? I vividly remember a period of time where it felt like no matter what record a band put out, they had sold out. What a strange phrase.

 

The whole concept of, "selling out," is and always has been totally ridiculous.

 

Anyone else super excited to hear the ballad?

 

Ballads are pretty hit or miss with me, but I'm excited to hear what these guys can come up with.

 

Finger picking and strings combo sounds clutch so my hopes are pretty high.

This album is gonna be so weird, but in a good way.

The track titles are so different and the themes of songs that they've talked about are different. I'm excited.

 

Debating whether I should bite the bullet and pay big for vinyl tonight in order to hopefully get a presale code. This thread has me terrified to try and wait for general on-sale!

 

Totally. Agreed. Part of why I put it in quotes was because that's really the best word I can use to get my point across, but I don't like using it because it could mean so many things. I guess in this case the vocals just sound sort of artificial. I don't know if that comes from a filter, or from autotune or whatever. But to me in this case, it just feels like too much. It doesn't even really detract from my enjoyment of the song, I just notice it enough to know that I like the sound of the rest of blink's discography more.

 

My point though is that the vocals on literally every Blink song are *extremely* processed.

 

Ha, that's true. And I don't mind it, really. I just feel like it's more noticeable in this song. And I like a lot of Feldmann's work, it's not a bad thing, just making an observation.
