After reading that interview for the 1st time in forever it's incredible how things just never changed with the band, specifically Tom. I swear if you took out all of the (+44) talk no one would be able to tell if that interview took place in 2006 or 2016. Kind of crazy.

Interesting topic though Mark mentions in the interview that he and Travis could continue to tour as blink since Tom quit but they wouldn't. Let's just go back to 2006 and say Mark and Travis decide to continue with blink and never do (+44) who would they have picked to be Tom's replacement. I wonder if they still would have had Skiba in mind, who would be coming off of Crimson, or if they would have went into a different direction.

BLINK-182 MADNESS ROUND 4: NEIGHBORHOODS/DOGS EATING DOGS ROUND UP

This will play out much like the other three roundups, where everyone will vote on the participants of a match each day, I will tally it at the end of the day or the time I specified the day before. I will only vote if it is to break a tie, winners will advance to the next round until we have a winner.
Because of the number of songs, this round has to play the matchups a bit differently in order to have balanced brackets and a final four. The winners of the first two matches will move down and compete in the last two matches of the same round, with the winner of those matches moving to the next round.

Wishing Well. I don't feel particularly strongly about either.
Up All Night. I don't feel particularly strongly about either.
Dogs Eating Dogs is dope.

Disaster felt a little creative, even if I don't think it's a great song, so sure, take it over the bland arena rock-ish Love is Dangerous. Boxing Day is pleasant enough, I enjoy the melodies, acoustic guitars, and electronic drums. That's a combination I think blink could do really well given how melodic they are. Definitely enjoy it more than MH, which never sounded full to me and isn't all that memorable. Wishing Well is okay. Ghost on the Dancefloor is slightly less okay. I have very little opinion about Up All Night or This is Home, but I remember how excited I was to hear blink together again so it has a slight edge, even if its a recycled riff and boring chorus. Dogs Eating Dogs and Snake Charmer are actually two of the stronger cuts from this era. They sound energized on Dogs Eating Dogs, they play with rhythm interestingly in the hook, it's a top tier post-breakup cut, up there with anything on California and deluxe, though the production and mixing on the Feldmann stuff is better. I like Snake Charmer okay too, musically. It's got a cool outro. The instrumentals are a bit closer to untitled/Box Car Racer than most of Neighborhoods/DED/AVA. But the lyrics hurt my feelings with how atrocious they are. Though... I'm not sure if I'd prefer bland generic lyrics about being a teenager like on California or just straight up weird and bad lyrics from Tom DeLonge with religious imagery where I have a hard time even discerning what he's talking about. I wouldn't say DeLonge's lyrics are better than much of the garbage on California/Deluxe, but it's certainly weirder/more unique, even if it's bad. And if they're gonna be bad lyrics either way, I think I'll take the weird bad lyrics.
