I feel both bands have had equal influence at different points. I'm probably wrong and adding fuel to the fire though

 

Green Day is a far more talented band than Blink. I mean, it's possible to subjectively like blink more than GD, but they are on different levels.

 

I was being sarcastic I didn't want an actual debate started lmao. But I can see that depends on your opinion i guess

Outside of Travis, no one in blink is going to win a ton of head to head matchups in terms of technical prowess as musicians. But they're great songwriters.

 

Jesus, California is garbage compared to every Green Day album from Dookie to American Idiot.

To each his own, but man...

 

I'll Agree with you on Dookie. That album is a treasure. But, in personal taste, I'll take California over the others. Again I dont fault you or anyone else for seeing differently then me. That's the beauty of music, there's no wrong opinion and a song or band means one thing to one person and something else entirely to someone else. It would be a pretty dang boring world if everyone only thought the same on music lol

 

Should've known this thread would've become another Green Day vs. blink argument when someone complained it was too quiet

greenday blows compared to blink. just an opinion. I liked dookie for about a year then got bored of it.

 

I like blink a good amount more than Green Day. But in most respects Green Day is better.

 

I've always been "team GD" but i cant ignore the fact that every single song off Enema/Take your pants (and i mean EVERY) is a song i know/love/jam to. That definitely says something. Like me and my buddies play music and could literally pick any song of either of those two albums and we'd know it/be into it.

Can't believe this is a debate lol Green Day destroys Blink. The best Blink album might be like the eighth best GD album

 

There are Green Day people and there are Blink-182 people. Neither band is incredibly talented or anything. It is what it is, haha.

 

I think people overrate both bands and I truly like Blink and certain GD.

 

Green Day are incredibly talented songwriters.

 

I'm truly amazed that this is still up for debate haha

 

And inconsistent in my opinion.

 

And incredibly talented live performers. Particularly Billie Joe.

 

It really is all subjective. No matter who you pick someone else will disagree with you.

 

I think Green Day as a whole is more talented. I enjoy Travis' style FAR more than I do Tre's though. Probably nothing by blink is as well done as Green Day up through AI. Though I think Untitled by blink is far more interesting to me than any Green Day record. I mean I think like @Nathan said, yeah if we're going to compare California to the early Green Day records, no contest. I enjoy California far more than anything Green Day did since AI though and also Untitled and Dude Ranch will always be favorites for me over any Green Day. I love Green Day but there's something about their sound, I'll binge on them for like a few days but I get burnt out on them really fast and that just doesn't happen to me as easily (if at all) with blink. But most of my time on here is in the blink thread, so yeah obvious bias lol.

 

Green Day have put on two of the best concerts I've ever been to. Their live show is consistently phenomenal

 

I'd say other than the trilogy, which was definitely messy, they've been consistently great.
