Next joke song is nothing but a bunch of Mark and Matt's Nah's and Whoa's with no music building on top of each other for a full minute.

Seeing as I love Matt's whoas, it would be the best joke song of the bunch easily

I actually enjoyed can't get you more pregnant. A little funny, a little clever, good joke song if you ask me

This thread has put a lot more thought into this song than the band did

Now that you mention this I kind of realize I do too lol. But then again, his work in Blink live and on album has propelled him up to the top of my vocalists list so I probably am being biased lol.

Side note I've said it before but I like how him being in Blink has created more Skiba fans. I'm not alone in my newfound fandom of the guy and he deserves it completely

  7. It's amazing to me how people are only finding out about him now. Considering how long he's been in the game.

I'm pretty sure Alkaline Trio has toured with blink in the past, too!

Oh yeah I mean, I knew he was before I liked alkaline especially Crimson (I was obsessed with Burn and We've had Enough Even if it's from another album my senior year or high school). But I never took the time to appreciate him as much as I did my other bands. But when he joined Blink I went back to Ak3 discography and I started to. Then California came out and seeing them live...newfound understanding of life lol

I feel like this joke song makes Golden Showers in the Golden State seem actually good.

Still, 8 actual new songs to hear! (haven't listened to Misery/excluded Hey I'm Sorry)

Totally agree. When I look back and see what he did with the untitled album it just makes me sad. We need drum parts like Down, Feeling This and I Miss You.

SUM-41, ALKALINE TRIO & BLINK IN 2001. It was heaven. My show was at the Worcester palladium and my pops drove me and some friends because we were in middle school. Still one of my favorite shows of all time!

I remember finding out about that show the day AFTER it happened and being so mad. I was either a freshman or a sophomore in high school.

I still don't know how my friends and I managed to get to so many shows at the Palladium back then, haha

the thing that bums me out the most about GSGS is I love everything about the music and melody, and if he had put real lyrics to it instead of a joke it could have been one of his best.

Right? He wasted his best, funnest guitar riff in years on a joke song. I was so sad cause this was the song he posted in his original Instagram posts about the album and got myself pumped it might be good. Then of course...it's wasted. It's exactly how I feel about the Brohemian Rhaspody riff.

Golden Showers is half-assed, but the blink joke songs are worse.

Tom's gone on record saying that he does joke lyrics to his demos. GSGS was a blink demo that he rushed out and didn't change the lyrics. It's still more of an effort than what we get from blink now

  17. they definitely need to just stick to actual full songs. 1 joke song per album cycle would be fine though, i guess. they're easy and short enough to sit through, but having 3 is just too much... ha.

and i still don't get how this one's lyrics are actually funny. it's barely a joke if someone has to explain it to ya, haha. but whatever. Mark's vocals sound great on it.

I agree with overdoing it and sticking to 1 joke song per album cycle. Buuuuut I still will take it over GSGS and the rest of California/CaliDx has been solid in my book so I can excuse the joke songs for the other good efforts we're getting

I get that they still want to do joke songs but it detracts from the albums, they should just play them live instead of recording them

  22. or save them as hidden bonus tracks like bands used to do back in the day

  23. My thing is they know now young young kids are getting into the band and yet they write a song about masturbation. I don't know, even at the age they are now and writing something like that kind of puts them down a notch.

I really wish I could have gone to that tour. My first show of theirs was Sum 41 / Alkaline Trio at Milwaukee Summerfest 2003. About a month or so after Good Mourning was released.
