Haha yeah, on that same album they had a song about Wayne Gretzky and a couple more that said some pretty weird stuff in there.

I never really minded any of the humor back then, it was more his political songs that got on my nerves. I know that's a big part of punk music, but something about his attitude always rubbed me the wrong way.

Like I said I spent this morning listening to their CC-Dude Ranch stuff. That's a weak ass riff compared to what they used to put out. No praise on that song at all

 

they haven't had a solid riff since the Untitled album, and even then, there wasn't many super memorable ones. all that come to mind are "feeling this" and maybe "i miss you."

 

Not Now guitar parts are dope. Feeling This is a cool riff. I like Asthenia and Easy Target/All of This.

 

They've set the bar very low for what constitutes a "good riff" these days.

 

It's like how we have Tom lovers that say fuck Skiba. Why aren't they saying fuck Tom ? He pretty much quit the band aha.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to grow old of Travis drumming. It's just the same thing.

 

The first three deluxe songs he hasn't really done much interesting compared to what he can do. Hopefully the rest of the deluxe is more creative

 

I mean even on California, but I don't know maybe I'm biased I never thought he was as great people made him out to be.

 

Sent 'Cant Get You More Pregnant' to my buddy and he goes, "That genuinely just pissed me off that they didn't make that a full song."

 

I thought Mark was Matt at the beginning of it. Almost had a "Dammit" rasp to his voice. So that's nice!

 

The only one I liked post-Untitled was "Wishing Well", actually. It actually stood out on its own and was identifiable.

But yeah, besides that, it doesn't really sound like they ever started writing a riff and then built the song around it. It's just all chord progressions or rehashes of older stuff.

 

Anyone care to elaborate on the lyrics to a non native speaker?

By it's self the first time. Probably once as both together. But I'll prob listen to it as it's own thing mostly.
Plan to just keep it on my on iPod as as separate album rather than tack it on to Cali

 

I like the joke song. I think it's super catchy and fun.

 

The guitars do sound amazing it
Not sure if it's just me or because they're so short and that's all I can soak in but the guitar tones in all 3 joke songs sound the best out every song on the album
(Parking Lot was strong guitars too though)

 

I think if they just added a few nananas and one or two whoas it would have been a great joke song. It's just a missed opportunity now unfortunately.
