Yeah I'm still loving it after four listens. It's hard for Skiba to release music that I don't love.

Also, what is interesting is on Spotify, it says nothing about this song being from the deluxe edition (aside from the obvious alternate artwork). It's just released as a single. But if you look up by the top of blink's page, there's a small button (that doesn't seem to link anywhere) that mentions a preorder for the deluxe edition. Just doesn't seem to be pushed very much at the moment.

I really hate "We are the *whatever* " kind of teen battle cry lyrics.

I'm not giving up hope on the deluxe versj. It makes me so fucking sad when I don't like their new songs. Ugh.

In times like these, picture what new blink songs might sound like in 2017 with Tom still in the band. If you don't like AVA, you may have been disappointed with whatever those would have been

Also I know it's supposed to be a reference but I thought it was lazy to rhyme California and suburbia again

Some have been the song of last summer but that's a topic for another day. I wonder if blink will end up releasing Sober as a 4th single or if they will use a deluxe song instead.

The chorus is all Feldmann but it reminds me more of newer Green Day so it doesn't bother me. I wouldn't have minded if they dropped the word "broken" though. It needs to be banned from pop-punk at this point lol

According to iTunes, it looks like Parking Lot is the only new song with an E next to it. Not that it matters if a song has swears on it (although I do think the swearing in Rabbit Hole takes away from the song) or not but found it interesting that this song and Rabbit Hole are the only songs with an explicit rating.

Exactly how I feel. I really don't want to fall out of love with blink, with their new stuff. That would be an awful identity shaking moment...

This is worse than any non-joke song on the standard edition, for me, but I'm not losing hope yet.

This song sucks. Not only is it not a step above California creatively or sonically different whatsoever, it's worse than probably every song on that album.

I love it!! It feels like old school blink. Very punk rock sounding.

Good point. I think we all agree that the guitar parts were lacking on California. This song certainly does the guitar justice.

Fuck it, I really like this. I don't care if they're 40 years old, I think the lyrics appropriately represent that perspective. I haven't once complained about Feldman, but I think he may have slightly overstepped here as I would have loved to hear a more raw version of Skiba, especially the screamy parts. He doesn't need some of the gloss that Mark might need at this point.

Lyrics in the first verse are so Alkaline Trio. I love it.

Mark's verse is weak on this. Give me two of matts verse.

It also sounds like it's been mixed differently. Less bassy than the standard version.

I preferred Mark's verse melodically but it easily had worse lyrics

While I'm still excited for the deluxe and I'm positive there will be some great songs on it, part of me is already praying for Feldmann to be dropped for the next album. It scares me how unlikely that seems to be...

Can't imagine the overdone vocalizings, the excessive name dropping, the constant "teen battle cry" lyrics, the disjointness of some songs or the generic pop-punk vibe of others going away with him at the helm.

Songs like "Parking Lot" are unlikely to age gracefully... I hate to say it, but it feels scripted/not-genuine for me too.

  22. i'm SO happy that they broke away from the "verse 1: Mark, verse 2: Matt" mold that made up EVERY song on California. I'd even take an all Matt song and/or an all Mark song. Or some cool back and forths, similar to "Feeling This" or "Pathetic."

I'm gonna wait and buy the deluxe vinyl/CD in a store so I don't have to pay out the ass for shipping for an already expensive item.

I also use to drink on the train on the way to a show in Chicago. Good times. The Metro is the best venue ever.

But for me it was $15 to see Rise Against. The good ol days
