It's hard to rave about something that has next to no promo leading up to it and then is instantly forgotten about by those who released the day after.

 

I wouldn't say that completely but I mean he thinks so highly of his projects that he thinks they are going to blow everyone away....then they don't

 

Didn't he announce something like 1 album and 2 eps or sth like that for 2016? Hello 2017.

 

Well who knows what he's got going on. You Dont Know A Thing About It. But he better hurry up before he realizes They Don't Care About You and he has No Future.

 

People are seriously obsessed with someone they claim to dislike...

 

I wouldn't call a page of discussion about Tom "serious obsession" when everything is quiet on the blink front and we're all just waiting for the deluxe version.

Newsflash: the founding member's name is going to come up from time to time.

 

So the same never-ending conversations about how his voice sucks, how he promised X, Y, Z and hasn't followed through, and mocking him for being passionate about aliens is what, then?

If you're happy he's gone, let him live his life. He seems perfectly happy where he is.

 

It's the American way

 

I mean I haven't even joined in here. And for all I know maybe some of these people are actually looking forward to what he's doing, only to get the same old thing, hype with barely anything to show for it. I'm personally happy the guy's doing what he wants, and I hope he stays happy and stays far away from blink. But Tom really doesn't do himself any favors with all the hype he gives everything and that hasn't really changed. He kind of makes himself an easy target.

 

I knock Tom because I care. He was my idol for a large portion of my life, and I have supported and liked his work, even a lot of Angels stuff and his endeavors (up until the solo demo). I just have noticed a decline in his work, I won't lie and say the departure from blink AGAIN didn't made me sour a bit too, as well as his general way of carrying himself and his projects lately. So I don't 'hate' Tom in fact I have been a long time fan, but am displeased with his current work and methods. With this being a blink forum and him being a founding member and a reason for the bands current state he's obviously going to come up. And it's the internet.

 

Tom is the man. I know he gets mocked a lot bc of the shit his says and does. Its funny and frustrating at times, but I'll always have much respect for the guy bc of how much his music and art has influenced my life from 4th grade when my mom bought me Dude Ranch to today at almost age 30 in 7 days. I give him props for the projects he's doing, even though he basically screwed the Blink legacy over....twice. It's nuts to throw something like that away, but I get it if he has other passions. It is what it is. I'm just glad he's happy, healthy, still puts out tons of music along with books and a couple films (1 of which was decent...Poet Anderson short-film). I've learned years ago to take what he says with a grain of salt, much like I do with things Mark says. It really has become a "I'll believe it when I see it and hear it" mentality for me as a fan.

Met Tom not too long ago as I frequently hang out at Swamis beach and downtown Encinitas where his shop is located. He's usually around that area (So is Scott Eastwood, which is hilarious. He lives there and owns a local bar there). But Tom was humble as apple pie when I met him. Looked old as shit, but was humble and said poo poo in a sentence when talking to me haha.

I wish Tom would tour AVA again. Never got to see them.

I second both notions

 

I saw the A's n' A's back in spring 2010. It was a fun time.

 

I saw AVA back in 2006 at their first show. It was at this place called the Glasshouse in Pomona. Sold out, but the place held 500 max. Decent show, but seemed like there were a lot of back tracking going on.

I saw them again about 2 years later in Rancho Cucamonga at a small festival. They played in a parking lot on a made up stage to a crowd of about 200 people. Really awkward.

 

I love the Glass House in Pomona! Great venue imo

 

I found myself wishing today I was in charge of the Grammys so Panic, Weezer and blink, three bands all up for best rock album with songs about Los Angeles on their albums could open the Grammys in Los Angeles with a medley of LA Devotee, LA Girlz and Los Angeles.

 

wtf Blink is playing the Houston Rodeo...ugh. Possibly one of the worst ways to see someone perform.
