Do it and tell us what happens. It'll be an experiment

Yeah just checked on setlist.fm even though the 1/4 show's set seems very off to me probably wrong. I didn't realize they had shows this early in the year. I thought their first ones were in February.

I'd guess that they will debut Sober at the California album tour that was talked about in that article a few weeks back. Hopefully they replace Kings of the Weekend with Sober for the Euro tour. I still don't understand why they picked that song or Los Angeles over Sober and SOOHM for the summer tour.

  5. i think the shows down there were for private events.

They definitely were... the show last night was the the Brooklyn Bowl in Vegas but the venue's website had zero info about the show

I wonder how much money blink gets for a private event. I'm sure if we all break our piggy banks we could get them to play a private Chorus.fm show right?

22k members on chorus, total. We would probably all need to donate $5 each to pay for that.

Sadly I don't think that would even pay for one of them to come out.

Their average gross from ticket sales is $511,225. I could see their fee being $300,000 for a public show, $600,000 for a private show.

blink was $750,000-900,000 for a private show back in 2014 when Delonge was still with the band.

Angels and Airwaves was $60,000, hence Tom needing to come back to blink to replenish the wallet.

I miss AVA. The Dream Walker and Chasing Shadows EP are the shit.

Also, where is everyone finding these numbers for shows?

I work in radio and looked up through Pollstar. We've also booked blink for a few shows in the past.

  17. Can you even imagine getting paid that much for playing fun punk rock music for 90 minutes? So crazy!

Curious where that number would be now. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it's a little higher now, after the success of California.

  19. "Overload" is decent. But the Chasing Shadows EP is not great. Dream Walker was pretty cool though. "Mercenaries" is one of Tom's best songs in a decade.

Not surprised at the low figure. I'm pretty sure I told this store before in the thread but I saw AVA at a theater in Connecticut in 2010 or 2011 right after LOVE Part 1 came out that has a maximum capacity of around 5,000 people. AVA played in the lobby of the theater, granted the lobby was big, and if there were more than 1,500 people there I would have been shocked.

Side note it was a fun show and being so close to Tom, as I'm not a pit guy. But was shocked at how small the crowd was. My friend who is a casual blink fan but liked AVA more thought it must be embarrassing for Tom to play at big venues with blink and then can't even sell out a small theater and has to play in a lobby with AVA. I wonder if that's part of the reason why AVA hasn't done a tour since, well that and there aren't any members of the band left except Tom and Rubin.

Was that Wallingford? That's the only place I know of with shows in the lobby.

Yup. The Oakdale. I've only been to 3 concerts there and AVA was the only one in the lobby.

They use that "lobby" as an alternate venue. It's still weird AVA wasn't in the bigger room but to call it "the lobby" is a little misleading when it is in fact a legit venue that numerous bands play when they come through CT. They call it "the dome" at the Oakdale I believe.

Thanks for the info. I've only been to the Oakdale 3 times and AVA was the only band that wasn't in the main stage area so it was very strange to see. When we walked in we just figured it was for some local bands to play before the show started.

Kiss with a Spell, Mercenaries, Wolfpack and Bullets in the wind are the only songs I remember/return to from that cd
