Too many openers for a reasonable run of show! Unless everyone but blink gets 30 minutes.

A rehash of the No Doubt / blink tour would help fill the void in my heart of missing out seeing them during that 2004 era.

Just want to say how much I love listening to Mark's radio show. Its so comforting and I always hear something new, even if the song has been out for awhile.

I was 17 when I saw this tour. Watching Gwen do push-ups on stage what a pivotal moment in my life. Then the next day at cross-country practice I found out my Coach's wife was there and hung out backstage with ND and blink. She was friends with Gwen when she was in college and I guess they always caught up when they were around each other.

That Blink/No Doubt tour was so good, maybe even better than Pop Disaster. Really should have been the end for No Doubt because they would have gone out on such a high note.

Give me the TOYPAJ tour all day any day. Peak blink with a great set list followed by the Pop Disaster Tour. While I enjoyed the blink/No Doubt tour it just felt different between the real lack of back and forth between Tom and Mark and playing everything super fast, it was still good just different for lack of a better word.

Yeah, I'm sure it was fun being at a blink concert in 2004 and I bet the energy was great, but they definitely played way too fast. Would take 2001 blink any day.

  15. There’s a glimmer of hope that they’ll consider releasing old demos and whatnot now. I’ll take it!

I want to try this here since I'm all about Mark's radio show. Each week Mark has his guest provide him with a playlist of songs to play on the show and they talk about the song/band and why they chose it.

If you were a guest on Mark's show, what 5 songs would you play and why?

    Mine would be:

Spacehog - In The Meantime - (A song that's been with me since I was a kid. It never gets old to me. I love the guitar tones, bass line, and vocal melodies. Haven't heard anything like it since.)

Nada Surf - Always Love - (This band means the world to me. Excellent songwriting, strong discography, and they make me feel like everything will be okay. This song is a nice sentiment and one of their most popular tracks. The album "The Weight is a Gift" is a top fiver for me too.

Bad Religion - Kyoto Now - (Nothing to say other than they're the best punk band in the world and listening to them makes me feel intelligent and sane. This song in particular really opened my musical ears up to harmonies in fast music. The band is the first punk band to pull it off. They're my favorite punk band and my favorite band of all time, next to blink of course.)

BB King - The Thrill Is Gone - (He is the reason I am into music. BB was the first concert I ever saw. I was 8 years old and my mom took me to see him. We sat 5th row in the middle. He sat down the entire show, jammed his heart out, the bass player legit didn't stop playing the entire set, and BB pointed me out in the crowd for being the youngest there. I remember it vividly.)

blink-182 - Pathetic - (The song that introduced to the band after hearing 'Dammit'. When I got Dude Ranch and the first thing out of the speakers was this song....my mind was blown. So much energy, angst, two singers...it felt right to me. Like I found a soulmate or something. The rest is history haha)

    That was fun.

I was just thinking the other day that it would be cool if Scott joined them live for a song sometime. I guess it makes sense that it hasn't happened yet but I feel like it could eventually, especially since they're somewhat on talking terms

And if he played Man Overboard that would be hilarious lol

Hard to replace the drummer who is now more popular than the band as a whole haha

Very true and actually kinda mind blowing to think about.

EOTS era there was no band more popular thank blink. 2022 and there are no drummers used more than Travis. Good for him.

Green Day - Basket Case - My Dad got Dookie on cassette right around when it came out, so I was around 6 (honestly still surprises me, since he was more of a David Bowie / Rolling Stones fan) and he had it on while doing some work in the family room. I remember the first time I heard those magical guitar chords kick in and "Do you have the time, to listen to me whine..." and it was just the most amazing thing I had ever heard. I immediately asked him who this was and from then on that Dookie cassette pretty much lived in my boombox. I wouldn't have found the other bands I love today without that album.

Catch 22 - Keasbey Nights - I was a band nerd in high school and was (and still am) a huge ska fan. This would have been right when Streetlight Manifesto put out their first album. I remember a friend played Supernothing for me and I distinctly remember going on Amazon and finding a recommendation list of the best third-wave ska albums to buy - that's how I ended up with a ska starter set of: Catch 22 - Keasbey Nights, Less Than Jake - Losing Streak, Mustard Plug -Evildoers Beware. Keasbey Nights is such an awesome song and while I like the improved musicianship on the Streetlight version, the recording and energy of the original is the best.

Less Than Jake - Hopeless Case - My sophomore year in college I was struggling with depression. I was drinking way too much, which sometimes led to self harm and suicidal thoughts. Despite hating In With the Out Crowd when it came out two years prior, I remember walking to class and Hopeless Case popped on my iPod and I was like "holy shit, this is exactly how I feel" and it honestly made me feel like things weren't completely out of control. Hopeless Case, Fall Apart, Landmines Landslides, Rest of My Life - all of those songs were the soundtrack to my depression - but they helped. It would take another 3 years to quit drinking (and self harm) - will be 12 years in September. I know it is cliche to say, but I firmly believe In With the Out Crowd saved my life.

Blink 182 - After Midnight - This list wouldn't be complete without a Blink song. There are so many favorites over the years - do I go with something off Dude Ranch? Enema was my first album from them, maybe Going Away to College. However, over the past few years After Midnight has become one of my favorite Blink songs. I love Tom's guitar work, Travis' simple, but technical drumming and all of that leading into Mark's chorus. It is the perfect Tom / Mark song.

Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run - I grew up in New Jersey, so Bruce is just part of everything musically for me. My first concert was Bruce Springsteen, any family gathering, wedding, party, etc - Bruce is included in the playlist. Again, I have so many favorites I could go with, but let's face it, if you had one song to introduce Bruce Springsteen to someone who has never heard him before - I'm going with Born To Run.

Not surprised, but so happy to see BR on your list. Neat choice with Kyoto, but they have so many great songs

Zebrahead - "Anthem" - This song is what made me want to play guitar. I was 11 years old when I first heard it and it changed my life instantly. I suddenly felt seen and empowered in being the underdog weird kid. If I never heard this song, I probably would have never gotten into pop-punk and blink or the scene in general.

Silverstein - "California" - This is my favorite song from my favorite album of all time by my favorite band of all time. The constant energy, fun riffs, massive chorus, stunning vocals, and emotionally charged lyrics make this everything heavy music should be. Fun Fact: The album was written so that every track on the A-Side has a sister track on the B-Side telling a alternate universe story.

As It Is - "The End." - This is an amazing end to an album that brilliantly tackles the media's exploitation of mental illness. Every line in the song hits me like a ton of bricks, and the final spoken word part brought me to tears the first time I heard it.

Halsey - "Honey" - This is just a perfect pop-rock song, and definitely my favorite from Halsey's recent album. If you've ever been in an amazing, spontaneous relationship that didn't work out for whatever reason, this song is for you. Fun Fact: Dave Grohl drummed on this track!

Chase Atlantic - "HER" - This is another pop song about a chaotic relationship that ended too soon, and it also is my favorite song of all time. Every little lyrical detail pulls me in, and the beat creates this euphoric atmosphere that's just elevated by, in my opinion, the best pop hook of all time. This is an anthem for the toxically nostalgic.
