New Tom interview:

 

Nine sounds awesome. It has its own distinct sound like Self Titled did. EOTS and TOYPAJ defined the Blink sound. Cali was good but safe. Neighbourhoods didn’t feel cohesive which it wasn’t.

Id be down with them working with someone new too. Bill’s done some good work as mentioned. I’d love to see them work with someone unexpected with more punk roots but who could handle pop sound and not be intimidated by the band or expectations.

I am high as shit at a show and I will fight anyone in the Twin Cities area who disagrees.

 

Left Alone is very good, but (and this is definitely an unpopular opinion) I think Pin the Grenade is kinda boring

It’s fine, but I like the all 5 of the songs that come after it more

Add “she’s out of her mind” and “rabbit hole” and our lists are the same.

 

I like both of those songs, but I think I wore them out the first year or two after the record came out haha

 

Home Is Such A Lonely Place is a nice song/video.

 

If Tom does come back I don’t think they should force an album. Maybe just write a single and make sure they can do a regular tour first before setting any goals that won’t get met.

 

That Tom interview gave me hope that he won't come back cause he's still passively aggressively dissing blink, saying he's not able to be creative if he has to keep playing the same songs over and over

That’s exactly why I think Tom should just pull a Brett Gurewitz and just be a studio member.

Although, Brett did because he runs Epitaph records full-time.

 

There are scenarios to make things work like you mentioned. He could have also done this years ago if he wanted to work on other projects. I feel like Hot Water Music does something so Chris can be in the band or something.

 

Hot Water music is still Chuck, Chris, Jason, and George, but they added Chris Cresswell full time and Chris Wollard doesn’t tour.
