In that "what if" scenario, I totally think yes they would play the singles from the last two albums

 

Isn't Blink currently managed by ... like Cardiff and YM&U at the moment or something?

Also, it's pretty obvious Tom's going to do something with the band, it's pretty much a given at this point.

 

Tom could be back I guess, but there really is a million reasons that a band could have restarted an album

 

There's only one song from the two Matt albums that would be anything close to a must-play.

 

I mean, Bored to Death will get played for sure, but there's others that could easily make the cut

 

I wouldn't say "easily" at all. They don't even play that many Matt-era songs. Easy enough to just snip them right out and very few people would notice.

Close to 0% chance Mark or Travis would fight for any of the Matt songs besides "Bored to Death"

 

I can't even remember the name of the company that my friend works for anymore but that definitely rings a bell!

 

There's only one song from the last two Tom albums that's a "must" play too and even that one is pretty iffy.

Even though last time Tom was in this band it was excruciating and pretty awful with relatively meh music … for some reason I’m ready to go through that again. Bring him back.

 

I’m just glad Tom has stopped playing the Fender Twin / AC30 direct out setups to using a Kemper / Axe FX / profiler. It seriously made the AVA shows sound so much better. Also the live pitch correction is welcomed because the alternative is pretty yikes.

 

Desiring bad music is beyond me.

 

Yeah at the AVA show last fall his guitar tone definitely packed the most punch its had since like 2005.

 

And when the inevitable Tom reunion tour happens, I guarantee that setlist will be all from Enema-TOYPAJ-Untitled, plus Dammit, Bored to Death and maybe Up All Night.

…and I wasn’t prepared for this. I just want a new record. The scrapped material pile for Blink continues to grow.

 

So Tom. Is. In. by the sounds of it then.

 

Meanwhile it would take them weeks just to drag a tenth song out of Tom for an album

Lol remember when he could only be bothered to get through four songs for the acoustic Whisper

 

This is from an optimistic point of view, but I think new music with Tom would be miles ahead of where they were last time he was in the band. For one, Tom seems to have much more self-awareness with his strengths and weaknesses and more of a willingness to collaborate. He's let the Rubin's write a good bit of his most recent releases, and I wouldn't be surprised if that mindset carries over to blink. I believe he even acknowledged at one point how disjointed Neighborhoods was in an old interview as far as the writing process went.

As a person that has an AC30, the thought of DI'ing straight from the pre'amp scares me and has me asking "wut". Like you're more or less rendering the amp pointless at that stage lol

 

Right?! That rig rundown made me cringe so hard.
