Haha literally sparked me to put Dude Ranch on my turntable while I work today.

 

I want to hear this so badly. I'm going to start a campaign towards the end of this year to get a proper 20th anniversary of Untitled thing to happen:

-Possible Untitled front-to-back tour dates
-Vinyl re-release with Not Now and Punk Kid Demo
-World-wide release of Punk Kid on streaming platforms
-Untitled merch released in modern style (similar to how TSURT has been using old merch ideas in new releases)
-Release 2013 live footage

I'm serious about this!

 

I wonder if they actually recorded "Punk Kid" at all, or if it was just an idea they worked on in the studio but never tracked a demo of. And if they did, I wonder if it still exists somewhere. I will support your campaign.

 

I'm over here wanting a TOYPAJ Anniversary tour way more haha. At least just give us Online Songs live!

I love hearing the vocal melodies isolated.

 

The synth in the chorus of ATST blew my mind and I can't not hear it now. So neat.

 

Revisiting Nine; this album rules. Heaven is a great track!

 

I listened to it today too. Still love it.

 

Rick Beato is SO much better than Instagram guy who just wants to stare uncomfortably into his phone camera and say "that sounds so good" over and over again. Rick also has much better stems – you'll notice he has the full uncensored vocal, which the other guy didn't have, and the extra Tom harmony.

 

Alright I'm reading Sellout by Dan Ozzi and I'm on the Chapter about Blink and right towards the end Mark has a super interesting quote on Green Day. I hadn't ever heard this verbalized at least even though I may have thought it:

"...but when we toured with Green Day on the Pop Disaster Tour, there was a mood in that camp that they were on the downslide. They were looking at artwork for their B-sides and rarities collection. While they were on the downslide and Blink was on the upswing, they were playing for some audiences who might not have listened to Green Day. It's funny to say, but they were kind of an older band. Older by five years, but at that point our fans thought of Green Day as on older band. And they performed so well at that tour that I think they started coming back up. I'd never take credit for that in any way - they resurged on their own merits - but we put them in front of a lot of people who saw how great they are."

Waggy...great song! I wish they would play more Dude Ranch songs live.

 

Rick Beato is so fucking good at what he does. Dude also has a soft spot for pop punk as well.

And I FUCKING KNEW there was an organ on that last chorus. God damn, I feel mentally vindicated now!

 

I love that Rick uses Warmoth guitar Bodies/Necks and parts and puts another brand's logo on the guitars. It's pretty great.

 

Are Warmoth bodies and necks generally considered good?

Yeah, Warmoth bodies are hand crafted in the USA and license the shapes from Fender. You can get different woods which will impact the price. They’re all made to order too. Source? I just waited 3.5 months for my Warmoth neck and body for my new bass build (still a work in progress)

 

They are great. I use them all the time. I've never had an issues with their products. If there was an issue, it was because I made a mistake.

Depending on what you get, you're almost always going to get something better than Fender or other top brands put out. Fender puts out nice stuff, but you're almost never going to find something with high end materials or custom specifications unless its from their custom shop, which is super expensive and like a year wait.

Warmoth is probably the best overall part supplier, in my opinion. Mainly because of their options, product turnover time, quality of work, and customer service. Their finish options are probably the cheapest as far as professional paint jobs go too.

For instance, I paid $425 for a custom Jazzmaster body AND a custom paint job for it. My quote at my local luthier/guitar shop was $600 just for the paint job!
