Lol, vans are not the best shoes for having to be on your feet all day.

My Vans Hi Tops are the comfiest pair of shoes I've ever owned. The foamy bottom and the thick padding are a god send.

The Vans Ultrarange is different than the traditional flat Vans that are more popular. They’re very comfortable for long hikes/wandering cities/standing all day/etc

I've never heard of them before so I looked them up.... definitely look super comfortable. I might have to invest in some.

I Empire is 15 this week. Did a play-through last night. I think it builds on everything from Whisper and was them cementing their sound and place in the scene at that time. I have very fond memories of seeing their tours from each album cycle. Pretty sure this was the album cycle that Tom wore goggles with lasers attached during a slow song.

I-Empire is my personal favorite AVA album. Poppiest release to me and the songs are so damn catchy.

Same. I would say it holds up the best front-to-back. It brought in more interesting musical elements than whisper but kept the ethos of the band.

  13. "Love Like Rockets" rules. Especially after you snip off the first 45 seconds or so, haha.

And yeah, I-Empire is a lot better than WDNTW.

I met the band at a CD store signing after it came out. It was my first time meeting Tom so I was really nervous. He signed my CD and I started walking away, and then he was like "which album do you like better? Whisper or I-Empire?" and I said "I-Empire" and turned to walk away. And then he stopped me again and asked me "why?" and I looked at him and was like "Tom... please stop asking me questions. I'm freaking out right now!" and then we both laughed haha. I'll always remember that.

If they rerelease the Bonham I would pay way too much for them. Looks like they're relaunching with the classic first though. I wonder who owns the company now.

A NOFX/Blink split with the same song but different versions would be pretty fun

  16. oh, and at that same AVA signing, there were notes all over the doors outside that said "ABSOLUTELY NO BLINK-182 MERCH WILL BE SIGNED." My younger brother had brought his Box Car Racer CD and was nervous that David and Tom wouldn't sign it, but they were happy to.

and while they were playing acoustic before signing, there was a big signed +44 poster on the wall next to them... haha awkwarrrrrd

Feel like I told this story before, but I bought I-Empire right before I started college. My iPod broke and I had loaned my entire CD booklet to a girl who ghosted me and didn't return it for months (pretty sure she loaned it to someone else for a while and she was scared to tell me).

So basically... the only album I listened to for months on my drive to and from school was I-Empire because it was already in my car's CD player. Probably why I can't force myself to get through it again. I cringe just thinking about it.

They're the best running shoes. They're super goofy looking, but dammit, they are so comfortable. Not just for running though. A lot of people in the healthcare field wear them. I know quite a few people who's doctor's recommended them for knee/hip/feet issues.

I have Hoka's for work. Those are very good. The soles are so thick that they feel like trampoline shoes if I even jog. Hoka work shoes, NOT recommended for running haha. I can't speak to their athletic shoes lol

It's all I run in haha. They have some really good road and trail running shoes. I've actually never tried their more casual/work shoes.

The soles are huge though haha. They look like way cooler therapeutic shoes haha.
