Add it to the growing pile of Skiba era cut songs that probably won’t see the light of day for a long time.

I'm a little skeptical about Fat Mike's comments lol. He says that it was going to be the lead single off California, and that Skiba does lead vocals. I just have a tough time believing that they were considering a lead single be sung entirely by the new guy.
Also his theory about them not wanting a co-write with someone outside the band doesnt make sense because Patrick Stump co-wrote Sober.

That'd be cool if that happened. And then go back twenty years and tell me Skiba and Fat Mike would write a blink song in the future and watch me lose my mind lol

It reads like an unreliable narrator who is bummed he didn't get to tell people he wrote Blink's big comeback song. Probably at the time they were all excited about the songs they were kicking around but when they got in with Feldman they wiped the slate clean on those. Fun lore to add to the skiba era though.

Yeah, I think this is pretty much exactly what happened. You can kind of piece together a timeline that substantiates that too.

This article where Travis mentions "Punk Rock Cliche" is from October of 2015. No mention of Feldmann anywhere in this which implies they hadn't started working with him yet.
Travis Barker Promises "Punk Rock Cliché" on New Blink-182 Album | Exclaim!

Then the Wiki page for California says:
"California was produced by John Feldmann and recorded at his studio, Foxy Studios, in Woodland Hills, California between January and March 2016."

Seems pretty likely that they just decided to start fresh with Feldmann and didn't manufacture some grudge against Fat Mike out of nowhere lol.

Unless they made it ... like, catchy at all ... there's no way that would be a blink single, let alone a lead single. Awful song.

Mark probably doesn’t vet everyone that wants to work with him, even though he should. Until right now, I had no idea he had allegations against him.

If they make them more comfortable maybe I’ll get a pair. I’ve become a New Balance dad.

As someone who actually read the Sekret Machines books... I love the ideas and the fiction story and think Book 1 (Chasing Shadows) could be a movie that feels like The Da Vinci Code... enough intrigue to carry the story, but also just enough "What If" to hold the narrative.

In the blink world, I can see Punk Rock Cliche being like another Kings Of The Weekend.
