  1. Last two Blink albums are better than Lifeforms.

I listened to DED yesterday, When I Was Young and Disaster are just 100% good AVA songs to the point that I wonder if Tom ever regrets that he used them for blink

if the best Nine songs were smashed together with the best Lifeforms songs, it'd be one of the best Blink albums, for sure.

hey, we haven't made alternate track lists in awhile...... haha

give me a blink album that has all these songs on it:
    heaven
    darkside
    generational divide
    black rain
    pin the grenade
    no heart to speak of
    ransom
    on some emo shit
    losing my mind
    automatic
    rebel girl
    kiss and tell

(but it's also pretty telling that i only wanted to include 4 lifeforms songs)

Tried lifeforms and it didn’t do anything for me

I like Lifeforms pretty well but if you combined it with Nine it would sound as disjointed as Neighborhoods. Better than Neighborhoods but no thanks lol. I'll take a full Nine by itself

  7. yeah, i agree with this now after browsing through Lifeforms again right now. "automatic" is easily the best song, but it sounds like 2 or 3 other great songs so that makes sense, haha.

I just can't connect with very much of the last two blink albums. Really wish I could (really wish I hated them.)

  9. Yep, and that's the fundamental issue. The two main songwriters of the two bands want different things in different styles and instead of working in the same direction, you get the disparate sounds of two sides pulling different ways. Which leads to weird mismatches and songs that don't flow together or songs that don't feel like they have any flow.

  10. Welp, you're in the vast minority with that opinion.

Green Day needs to do a tour where they only play songs from 1994-2001

  15. That's me stage diving into the biggest venue they could play if they did a full album show. @clockwise is catching me.

I'd prefer a tour where they only play songs from 2012-present tbh. Heard all of those old songs enough at this point.

Spellbound would make a killer Blink song - I can’t unhear Mark singing the response vocals in the opener.

That was definitely the case on Neighborhoods and DED, but if they could agree to bring in a producer, that should help mesh things together a bit more.

Im a diehard Trio fan and an even longer blink fan. I loved both California and Nine, but felt like there was too much filler in between a few gems. I really loved Lifeforms but I definitely agree that at least with Matt Skiba, blink has a cohesive path of songwriting even if I prefer Matt and Dan Andriano all day long. Tom is just a unicorn and he is a very specific chess piece when it comes to the band dynamics. I wish it would work better for blink, because as much as I love Neighborhoods.. I do agree Nine is a better album. California? Ehhhhhh naw... After Midnight, Hearts All Gone, Even if She Falls, Ghost on The Dancefloor.. I love those ones.

Maybe it was the 10 year anniversary, but Neighborhoods has been my most played Blink album this year and I’ve really enjoyed the (overdue) love it has been getting. It’s a flawed album in some respects, but there are some real gems on that album.

It would be an insane thing that would never happen, but it'd be funny if Tom, Mark and Travis just formed a new band and didn't play any blink songs.

Was literally talking about this today. Honestly I could see them do that. Green Day does it with The Network and Foxboro Hot Tubs.
