19 years old...fuck.

 

I refuse to believe untitled is almost 20. I was just at the 10 year show!

 

I remember thinking the 10 year anniversary was a long time and how we had a full blown breakup in between, then neighborhoods, DED.

But 20 years is crazy. That album has been in my life longer than it hasn't! And the amount of stuff that's happened with the band from 2013 to 2022 is wild, too.

 

Is kicking Mark out and replacing with Tom similar to kicking Josh out and replacing with John?

 

Back to the Q101 thing from Friday - Troy Hanson came on the morning show and was the one to announce Tom is rejoining and they are playing the United Center. My buddy said, "if Troy said it, it's true." Take that for what it's worth.... oh... and Troy is VP of Rock Programming for all of Cumulus. That's as real of a source as there is.

 

A new song that rips would be a nice touch alongside a tour announcement.

Speaking of Tom and his business ventures.. since when did his shop in Encinitas close?

 

not putting any stock into any of these rumors from "sources" until we hear it from the horse's mouth, or until the top blows off from all sorts of different reliable sources, and not just the regurgitated "info" that originally came from Q101.

 

End of January last year:

I hear ya but a mid-day host casually dropping it based on Instagram flirting between the band is one thing... the head of rock programming for Cumulus is a whole different thing... and a very reliable source.

 

I don't need the VP of a media company to tell me Tom is reuniting with Blink. Its been the worst kept secret for the past 6 months. Saying that the reunion tour is going to come to one of the biggest cities in the country and play the main arena also isn't shocking or unexpected.

I think the only interesting thing from all of that is that I would've thought they'd try for small baseball stadiums in major markets like LA, Chicago and NYC.

 

That's another thing to consider. They had said United Center, meaning indoors. Are they targeting arenas for a larger scale tour? Like another head-honcho band? That combined with maybe weather aspects (early Spring tour?) considering they have mainly been touring in the summer and usually play outdoor pavilions.

 

pleeeeease be indoors... i hate outdoor/amphitheater shows.

 

I'm sure they'll just do some sort of Blink/All American Rejects/The Wonder Years type lineup at amphitheaters this summer because they've done it a million times over the last few years.

If Blink announces Turnstile as an opener I'll throw up. I remember Tom posting about them just before glow on came out. One of the raddest parts of the reunion was Tom bringing amazing bands out simply because he thought they were cool. Manchester on the Honda Civic tour was nuts.

 

Likely targeting spring arena dates so they can hit large summer festivals like Lollapalooza.

 

An Untitled 20 year anniversary wouldn't be suuuuper exciting to me, honestly, if they were to go that route next summer. i'd love to see them play "here's your letter" or even "i'm lost without you" because i haven't seen them play those songs a million times over the last ~20 years like all the others, but I dunno... obviously I'd get a ticket in a heartbeat (duh.)

 

It would only be odd because they already played some shows on the 10 year, but a full tour would be cool. I have seen the greatest hits setlist with Tom and Matt and do not need to see it again. If Blink did untitled with a killer opening band I would for sure go to the show.

 

puking, pissing, crying, throwing a tantrum in excitement if turnstile does a full US and gets dummy big off that. it'll be blink's greatest accomplishment

 

it'd be cool to see them bring out someone classic but not a full time touring band, like Midtown, The Starting Line, or something.
