Yeah I don’t understand why they just didn’t release it back in 2020 or 2021, before Mark got sick, when they weren’t going to tour or record any new music. Would have been a nice stop gap.

 

They probably just didn't stand behind it as something they wanted to release, you realize that all bands have unreleased music that they don't deem good enough for public consumption, right?

Of course, it’s just strange because they talked it up a lot for them to just abandon it. Even them just releasing one song as a one off single or something.

That would be interesting. I'd like to at least hear it.

I can never make up my mind about Tom in blink vs Matt in blink because every other week I prefer the other but I think it boils down to me missing Tom for the legacy but me liking Matt more for the quality. Older blink had quality but Tom really phoned it in post reunion and it left me (and it sounds like a lot of people) skeptical about how worthwhile him being back would be. I guess Matt and Tom at the same time is the safest solution but we shall see what happens. It could be fun!

 

Have people not heard Lifeforms? I feel like Tom is done with the space sounds.
Give me songs like Automatic and Kiss and Tell with Travis and Marks magic sprinkled over it

I genuinely really liked Lifeforms. I felt like so many songs were released early though and because I have no self-control, I played them so much and once the album came out, I didn't listen to it a ton. I did see AVA in 2019 though. Live and on the record I felt it's the best Tom has sounded in years.

 

The first two Angels and Airwaves records are the ones I go back to from time to time but definitely fell off around Love.

 

Lifeforms is pretty good, but i’d attribute more to Ilan than Tom. Think he wrote a sizable portion of it.

 

Exactly. Even the alternative version of I Really Wish I Hated You with Miley Cyrus that leaked. It was really good, I liked it better than the original. Why not just officially release that during the down period? Instead we got a bad Xmas song and a so so Quarantine single.
