GREEN DUDES BEST GREEN DAY PODCAST Prestigious

I feel like he's had more L's than W's with his business endeavours, but I think people like to invent their own deranged version of Tom in their heads and run with that around here lol.

Mark Hoppus’s best album is dude ranch. Tom Delonge’s best album is self-titled. In between you will find a collection of songs that are undeniably great. Passed that we argue.

I love Mark's lyrics on WYHSB but Dude Ranch is easily his personal best.

  12. Yeah, Tom didn't come into his own lyrically until Box Car Racer. Not sure why he always says he felt like he had to write dorky songs for Blink, while Mark was writing emotional/mature stuff since Dude Ranch.

"Following its inception, Modlife signed numerous prominent artists to its roster that, in 2014, includes Kanye West, Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails, as well as DeLonge's own musical projects, Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves.[6] Angels & Airwaves used the platform to further monetize a 2012 tour,[7] whereby the band sold VIP packages for fans that doubled the income they received. In December 2014, DeLonge reported that direct-to-consumer multimedia packages sold via Modlife contributes 40 percent of revenue from each new Angel and Airwaves release.[2]

Pearl Jam used Modlife to sell concert tickets directly to the members of its fan club, Ten Club, and used a lottery system provided by DeLonge's platform. The American tour promotion company, Live Nation, developed its own version of Modlife after witnessing the Pearl Jam experience."

Sure, it's not around anymore for whatever reason but to act like Tom isn't ahead of the curve on these things is just as crazy as investing in TTS.

Tom isn't a genius, but he's also not incompetent.

But its not about the idea, its the execution. He is a creative person which means he will have good ideas but it doesn't mean he is good at running businesses.

I mean TTS is in massive debt and he is using his fans to try to fundraise via worthless stocks while over paying himself and his buddies. This guy goes in-depth on all things TTS financials (start at 29:30) but the summary is Tom be bad with money.

I also have to ask, why are none of his rich friends investing in his business endeavors.

Obviously Mark and Tom have talked about needing to relearn songs before tour, but something makes me believe Travis can just sit down at his drum set and play through the entire blink catalogue by request.

Didn't he learn blinks entire setlist in one night when he took over for Scott

That’s the story, but my mind can’t comprehend how he did that unless he already knew their songs as a fan

As someone who can’t drum to save their life I don’t understand it at all, but I’ve come to find this isn’t as uncommon as you think. I guess it depends on the intricacy of the drum work, but I know a handful of drummers who have filled in for bands over the course of the last year for one off shows and learned their entire sets in super short order. I don’t get it at all lol

Like I just have to assume he was already comfortably familiar with the song structures!?

I mean a lot of their older songs were the same fast drum/snare beat throughout.
