I remember ripping the Wembley show and the big day out footage our from YouTube and having it on my MP3 player that played video (it must have been like a 2 inch screen?) and watching it a bunch at school.

I would be shocked if he doesn’t get nailed for some sort of fraud scheme. Would love to see the terms and agreements for this “stock” and all that comes with it.

I've read up on the stock stuff and while I'm no finance major it does seem to be all legitimate and done correctly. It's basically like investing in a start up company and if it never takes off you don't make a profit. It's all up to the individual whether or not they think it is a good investment or not.

The minimum amount is $750 investment so the average blink/Tom fan IMO is not investing in TTS. I've considered it myself but haven't pulled the trigger on it because $750 is a lot to me especially right now with inflation/cost of goods, etc.

  6. You'd be better offer lighting 750 on fire. Calling it "legit" is pretending something being
a legal way to scam someone, is equal to moral. Shit stinks to high heaven and has from day one.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I remember when the song progress board from the Untitled album was up on eBay it went for somewhere around 750 to 800. I still kick myself for not trying to get it lol

That would've been a worthwhile 750 dollar investment

I remember that very clearly. And I know who has it and they will never ever sell it sadly. If it only went up for sale like 5 years later I would've easily jumped on that. A classic piece of blink history.

Tom just seems like a dude who is so self-conscious about his teenage/20s image that he parades around like everything else he is involved with has more merit. Until it comes time to fund his “more serious” ventures of course, then he dips his toes back into the money pit that is blink. To this day it has never sat well with me how he used the 2009-2012 era as a marketing tool for Angels and Airwaves and all his “books”. People can complain about Skiba all they want and it not being authentic blink, but there would be zero authenticity in 2022 from Tom Delonge in the band. He’ll be back when he needs more money and then be gone again.

Good thing he's coming back in 2023, not 2022:-p

  11. Yeah he hasn’t been authentic with anything blink related since 2004, let’s be honest.

That’s not true, there were those 2 weeks back in 2012 where he was actually promoting the release of DED and seemed like he cared about the band and being in the band.

Even then, didn't he want release Love Pt. 2 on the same day or he wanted to release DED on TTS/Modlife/whatever it was? haha. My memory is fuzzy on that, but there's basically always been an ulterior motive with this guy since the mid 00s.

That time during the most recent breakup when Travis made a comment about how Tom would just play with blink when he needed money always stuck with me. It definitely solidified the assumption that Tom basically just pretends to enjoy blink to generate money for all of his other stuff. I guess that's why I have a hard time understanding everyone's excitement for his return. Like... it's nostalgic, I guess, but he probably just needs funding for something else.

  15. Exactly. Other than for nostalgia, I can’t wrap my head around why any Blink fan would want Tom back in the band.

It was the Stomping The Phamton Break Petal but Tom didn’t even promote that release. I remember he said in an interview around that time that he forgot it was even coming out on the same day as DED and asked Mark and Travis if they wanted him to move it and they said no. Which really stood out to me that he wasn’t pushing a side project and was 100% blink focused. He did want to release DED on Modlife though and I think there were issues with the release on the site. If I remember correctly he wanted it to be a Modlife only download but they ended up emailing the links to the people that bought it and it ended up on iTunes a few days later. Rumors were Tom was pissed at the issues with the release and checked out for good.

Regarding Tom only using blink when he needs money, I’m not sure if I ever told this story but I have a friend that in worked for a big time Hollywood agency, he texted me in mid January 2009 and said he heard blink was getting back together soon because one of the guys needed money. I asked him for more details but didn’t know anything else (my friend isn’t a blink fan and had no clue who any of the members are just that I liked them). I always thought that story was funny and still do.

As a licensed investment advisor, this is the perfect description of what’s happening here haha.

That makes more sense. I sort of remembered people complaining that the site crashed or something whenever they were trying to download it the second it released, but I missed all of that. I always wondered if part of the divide back then was because Tom was trying to sell the other two on all of the same TTS/Modlife junk but they didn't go for it and wanted to go with a traditional label and whatnot.

Yeah I’m sure that was part of it. Wouldn’t surprise me if the reason Tom wanted off labels and go independent was so he could just funnel everything through Modlife.

Considering massive bands like Pearl Jam used modlife, Tom was not wrong to try to get blink on board. I love the revisionist history on here acting like Tom has never been successful with his business endeavors…

eh this feels like its on the other end of the spectrum of judging success. Just because he had a couple big bands using it doesn't make it a success. I mean the company is gone so do we judge that as a failure? I am sure they saw some wins and some failures but overall without having access to what happened to the company and its cashflow its hard to say.

My personal opinion, based of the public finical details of TTS, is Tom is not good at running companies.

  23. More importantly, why haven't we had more "live" concerts inside of bags of Doritos???

I haven’t seen anyone here make this claim. I personally never said blink was wrong for avoiding Modlife - just that I could see how it would have been a point of contention. I was commenting on how him asking fans for money for these ventures aligns with Travis’s accusation that he only uses blink when he needs to fund these things.
