big time autopilot. it’s the purpose of a press tour, but having gotten the book early i was bummed he was getting spoon fed anecdotes from the book and just teasing them out. A real interview with another musician will be rad. Toby is really good about hitting eras of someone’s life and getting new stories. also skiba and toby are so tight i bet we’ll get some good skiba era stories.

After hearing the comments was kind of glad I skipped the book tour. I know for a lot it was enjoyable but for me it would've been a huge let down.

 

it was fun for me because i was full of Sombrero, i was third row, and just a couple rows in front of Mark's mom and wife. if i was sitting far away in the theater, hearing the same stories that were in the book, and scripted convo with Dan, it might have felt like more of a letdown. i had fun though. i laughed, i cried. it was a fun 24 hour trip to San Diego with the wife.

I would have gone if he came through CO, I was referencing the pods and interviews. Would have loved to see him in that format.

Toby’s pod with Tom was good but I’m not so sure he helped to reveal any new factoids or stories. I think he got Tom reflecting a lot on the AVA days and his time away from Blink but then he would ask a question about something that seemed like stuff we pretty much all knew already.

 

Yeah I wish we could get someone to do an interview where we vote on questions. There's so much deep cut stuff I want to know about. I've had a burning list of questions for forever.
