My Brother in Law broke my original enema cd by accident. I used to blast it in my boombox while showering. He dropped something on it and the CD broke. Before he even told me about it he had already gone out and purchased a new one for me. The unedited version too since my mom bought the edited version when it came out lol.

Dude Ranch and TOYPAJ are my quintessential blink albums, but I do have fond memories surrounding Enema. Like jamming to Mutt on repeat while getting ready for my Middle School dances and thinking about what girl I was going to slow dance with.

I just hate how all his basses only have a volume knob.

 

Adding a tone knob is an easy modification to make though.

TOYPAJ is 21 today! Craaaaazy!

 

Probably Tom’s best guitar work and Jerry Finn’s best production.

 

It’s a good record, obviously. But it’s not even close to his best work, at least not to my ears.

 

It’s easily his tightest record. Took everything they learned from Enema and made it sound better.

 

Idk the untitled record is some next level shit. I would agree that TOYPAJ is Enema production but tightened. But Untitled is something else, probably a lot to do with the way it was recorded

 

It’s perfect pop punk. Tom is “better” on untitled and way more creative on dude ranch but they perfected the blink sound on TOYPAJ

 

There’s just a few records that come to mind when I think of his best sounding records, which is of course subjective.

Good Mourning
Boxcar Racer (though close to TOYPAJ)
Untitled
Sing the Sorrow
Decemberunderground

I just preferred those sounds to the glossy production on TOYPAJ. Still a record to be proud of though.

 

Tiger Army’s “Music From Regions Beyond” is another top Jerry Finn produced album for me.

The guitars alone on TOYPAJ are perfect, especially Tom's palm muting.
