Although I also want to know what happened on Lit's last album as I actually liked the one before it quite a bit so I'm glad that point was raised if anyone can explain that garbage to me haha

 

Pop shouldn't be a dirty word in music. The artists that "Sold Out" or "Went Pop" are often the only ones trying to push music in a creative ot innovative direction. Sometimes it works, a lot of the time it doesn't. But I'd rather have bands incorporating pop elements to expand their sound than bands ripping off the same old dinosaur bands over and over again until I die.

I can deal with dozens of bad Imagine Dragons singles, cause we'll (probably) get another good one someday.

Howevet rock bands incorporating pop songwriting elements into their music takes away the only interesting thing from the genre, so no, the good "pop" acts will use interesting sounds and melodies parts. Not just use it as an excuse to become lazy, repetetive songwriters.

 

Yo Lifehouse Hanging By A Moment is a phenomenal song.
