Anyone remember a song titled “Phantom Of The Opera” that was labeled as being by blink? Or “Happy Together” by NFG?

I never used Kazaa. I remember my baseball team friends recommending Bearshare, however.

I remember using Ares when I was in 5th-6th grade to download songs. Everything was always mislabeled and took forever to load.

Pretty sure it took like 36 hours to download Jeff Hardy’s WWE theme song, cause that was my priority in like 2004.

Yeah, there was nothing more agonizing than the times where you found an elusive record you'd been chasing, only it turned out to be P.O.D., especially since you'd have to wait an hour for it to download. I think my first band posted our demo in such deceiving fashion. We might've used Linkin Park as bait.

Side note: Jason’s last two avatars, Kenny and Mark, are super nostalgia bombs. I watched the “Best of Me” video conservatively about 10,000 times

I remember for years I thought Blink named one of their songs a racial slur thanks to Limewire

I tried selling the Starting Line to a Kingdom Hearts-obsessed friend of mine by saying “the singer looks like Roxas”.

  14. I would get home and search Napster for NFG songs in the lead up to the ST album every single day hoping they’d leak early.

It was so clean at the time.

  16. The day Ever Passing Moment showed up I about had a anxiety attack waiting for it to all download and being terrified the person would sign off in the middle lol

  17. I’ve been on a big nostalgia kick the last two weeks. Doing a TSL deep dive this week as it gets warmer and loving every second. Will be on Direction tomorrow.

I remember when a friend told me to download Girls Not Grey by AFI right when it got onto Kazaa. Life-changing moment. Also downloaded sooooo many blink MTV performances and music videos. Funny enough though, I discovered MXPX while looking at CDs in Borders and saw 10 Years and Running on display, thought the cover was cool and the guys on the back looked cool, so I put the headphones on and the rest is history.

I was basically stoked whenever something I downloaded on Limewire was correctly labeled. Like a pro-shot Sum 41 cover of Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me”

I downloaded a ton of blink live tracks. I had them all on a CD, I didn’t know at the time but most were live B sides and some were hidden gems from KROQ Weenie Roast and Almost Christmas.
