311 debuted their new song (which was a Feldmann track) last night on KROQ.... Let's just say the fan base isn't too happy with the result. Poor guy.

It sounds like a song that would be on at the ending of a children's movie. It will be cool for beach days, I suppose. Both new songs would be.

But yeah, yikes. The hardcore fans are NOT into it lol

Idk just listened to it musically it's pretty good. Lyrically and vocally pretty boring and it barely has any lyrics lol

Last album was easily the most I liked anything by them since Soundsystem

For the 2016 California summer tour blink announced their album release date and summer tour via email on 4/28/16, which was also the date Bored To Death was suppose to be released officially. I got an early VIP access code to buy tickets on 5/2/16 and that was the date I ordered and bought them. So we're right around that time frame if we're going to follow that schedule.

I don't really see how that 311 song is a departure from what they've been doing for 15 years honestly.

I like old 311 that rocked with S.A. rapping, is that what the hardcore fans were expecting? Cause Amber like kinda Sugar Ray-ed this band lol

It’s because Feldmann is attached to it. Hes like one of those film directors that everyone decides they hate whatever he’s gonna do before even seeing it.

I know my friend wishes they’d stay about from that pop radio stuff. He’s a diehard fan of their older stuff. I also noticed people really get into their heavier sound.

I thought Mosaic was the shit, but a few of those Feldy tracks stuck out like a sore thumb on that album and didn’t go ever well with fans.

Yeah I didn't know at first he didn't do the whole thing. They were probably the weakest once I knew what they were but I still enjoyed it basically front to back

Except I enjoy more that came from Feldy than what’s come from those two. Page Avenue and Black Swan by SOTY and California for example

Don't hate on them! Also Feldy didn't do Black Swan my dude, that was Michael "Elvis" Baskette who is famous for the modern classics Vena Sera (Chevelle), This Type of Thinking (Chevelle) and All I See is War (Sevendust).

Yeah I honestly don’t mind it, but it’s just not anything special. 311 is pretty unique but this is pretty generic and could be done by a lot of bands and I think that’s why people are freaking out. Haha. But to be honest, I don’t blame Feldmann, it’s what the band wanted.

Edit: but yeah, like you said, it’s not a huge departure from their sound. It’s just more watered down I guess.

Feldy produced a couple of tracks on that record.

That is definitely true. Though the last 311 album had people a little cautious about the band working with him, and then all of his songs stood out from the rest, were poppy and simplified so people decided right there they hated him. haha. Now most of the fan base doesn't even want his name mentioned.

Gimme light, gimme love, gimme fire

The Used and Page Avenue have identical production. It fit super well with The Used but it took all the gusto out of SOTY.

After hearing the rest of their albums, I can agree. I still love Page though. After Wolves, I would love Aaron Sprinkle from now on!

Neighborhoods would be the 11th best 311 album

Idk how many albums they have actually now lol

But I was a huge 311 fan through Soundsystem
