I remember seeing Box Car Racer in NYC like 2002? Them, H2O, and TBS.

You know how when you’re a kid, you have no grasp on how much things cost? I went to plenty of shows with my older brother when I was like 10 through 13 but had this ridiculous notion in my head that blink was waaaay too popular for me to ever see and that tickets would be $400 minimum.

I probably had plenty of opportunities to go but never even tried. By the time I was old enough to pay for/drive myself to the shows they had already broken up. Didn’t see them until the reunion in 2009.

Seeing Alkaline Trio, Sum 41, and blink in a 2,000 capacity venue the month before TOYPAJ came out was the best. Is that what the TOYPAJ tour was?

My show was for sure after TOYPAJ came out. It was postponed due to 911. Sum 41 couldn’t play due to travel restrictions so we got NFG. Such a rad show. If AK3 played I don’t remember or I didn’t see them

NFG was definitely a supporting band on the TOYPAJ tour. Chad would come out and help play Give Me One Good Reason almost every night on tour.

When I saw them at 104 Fest for the TOYPAJ tour blink, NFG, Sum 41, Saliva and Crazy Town were on the main stage. I honestly don't remember if Alkaline Trio played at the venue that day or not.

Yup the TOYPAJ tour and Pop Disaster tours were my favorite blink concerts. Peak blink really. Would take those sets and that chemistry over anything I've seen from the band since.

They did the first half of the Honda Civic Tour in 2001 with support from Alkaline Trio, No Motiv, Sum 41, The Ataris, New Found Glory and Bodyjar (on different dates).

Then there was a big shed tour with NFG, Midtown and, I want to say The Living End.

I remember hearing about blink and Alkaline Trio playing at the Worcester Palladium in MA the day after it happened. Sad times for High School Sophomore Me.

Yep November 2002 at Hammerstein Ballroom! I remember I skipped that show to instead see Box Car Racer play KROCK's Claus Fest a few weeks later with New Found Glory, Zwan, Audioslave, Queens of the Stone Age and Coldplay. BCR ended up only playing 4 songs and I was so heartbroken lol

I want to say Alkaline Trio might have done a spot show or two during the Pop Disaster Tour. When blink played in Chicago Tom dedicates Carousel to them.

  13. i don't know why i didn't go to the TOYPAJ tour... my parents must have made me stay home for some reason. but i did go to the Mark Tom and Travis Show tour, as well as the Pop Disaster Tour.

Was the TOYPAJ tour also 2001? or 2002?

  15. Alkaline Trio opened for Blink on the Honda Civic Tour 2001 from May 1 to May 11
Alkaline Trio opened for Blink again for the first few dates of the TOYPAJ tour in 2001 from July 4 to July 15

  16. the TOYPAJ tour ended Sept 21, 2001

Alkaline Trio didn't play any of the Pop Disaster Tour shows. You might be thinking of Saves The Day, who did a few dates near the end of that tour.

They could have been at the show backstage or in the crowd though maybe. Shrug.

Yeah I knew Saves The Day played the Pop Disaster Tour, as I saw them instead of Jimmy. Still bitter about that.

Good point about Trio possibly being backstage, would make sense. Looking at setlist.fm they didn't play any Pop shows.
