Listening to TOYPAJ again, this has got to be my favourite blink record, but their tied-second best.

Also, California is better than Neighbourhoods but it does have some good tracks.

  3. TOYPAJ is my fav, untitled is their best, CA is laughably better than neighborhoods. Stop lying to yourselves.

California seems rushed and uninspired. Sober, San Diego are pretty solid though

  5. What does uninspired mean? What does rushed mean? The most popular Blink songs of all time were written in 5 minutes.

Listen - it’s just not very good . San Diego and sober are top tier blink songs . The others are just throw aways. I love blink, but let’s be real

It's been said before but the main problem with California is Feldy just didn't let the songs breath. I mean San Diego, Left Alone and Cynical are all standouts and those songs had the right formula. I want more big choruses like on Left Alone.

This kind of criticism is always funny to me. There’s a lot of things I don’t like about Feldmann’s production but it’s not like Blink had no input on the structures of the songs

Oh this is completely true as well .I probably should have mentioned that, the band absolutely had input .I just think they may have gave Feldmann a bit too much control.

It drives me crazy how people keep saying California was rushed when blink spent the same amount of time in the studio as Dude Ranch, Enema and TOYPAJ. The only outliners are Untitled and Neighborhoods albums. I wish the band didn’t do any interviews about the California recording process so it wouldn’t give people stuff to complain about.

Does that mean he and Feldmann had to give them the intro and an entire chorus of a blink song? Or is there some other reference material there I'm not aware of that the keep borrowing from?

Feldmann produced a third of the new State Champs album, so it was probably just a recycled intro. Super obvious which songs he worked on lol.

That's just incredibly lazy. I would not be okay with a whole chorus and song sections so blatantly copy and pasted from another band like that. Lol.

  21. I posted this to reddit as a gag but it has nearly 200 responses so I thought I should include my friends here. My buddy Arthur used to run b182.com and he happened upon the results to a survey he ran back in 2007. I thought it'd be interesting to run the same questions 11 years later and compare the results! Here's the 2018 version of the survey and I'll post the results of both 2007 and 2018 at the end of the week!

Aside from the podcast question, I would guess most of the answers were about the same lol

  23. As a peek behind the curtain, im a little surprised at the level of tom love there is, TBH. I tried not to study the 2007 results too much so I could be surprised

Mine changed. I had much more love for Timmy in 2007 than I do now.

I've definitely mellowed out on the Tom hate in the past year or so. Probably because I'm on such a nostalgia kick from going back and listening to a lot of old bootleg live concerts. I still really don't care about anything he does musically or otherwise outside of blink though.

I do wish I would have seen +44 in concert when they toured with FOB. Such a missed opportunity for me but the venue they were playing at wasn't the best and I figured I would catch them with their next tour.
