am i the only one in shock travis sounds that good?

 

i'm waiting until i at least hear a full song before i make a full opinion. but Tom always said that Travis was a better singer than he and Mark so i've always had that little bird in my ear, but i'm excited to hear a full EP of him singing. so wild haha.

 

I remember someone posting about Travis having perfect pitch, but you want a singer to be memorable (in a good way preferred). Hope it’s good. It’d be cool if someone worked in Blink to have him sing a pet in a song. Also, Skiba was a drummer and his career as a vocalist worked out ok. I’m sure there are even more good examples, but this one felt fitting.

Wasnt he a drummer in like high school? I feel like he's been a guitarist/vocalist for the majority of his career now.

 

Yes. The point is being a drummer doesn’t mean you can’t be a good vocalist…whether you it’s when you take over as lead singer and guitarist because you’re writing most of the songs when you’re in your teens or 20’s or you’ve become one of the most famous and recognizable drummers behinds kit for 30 years.

im sure there are a few. I feel like Derek of Alk3 who’s also a drummer has sung on some of solo stuff.

The singing front man thing is also going pretty well for Dave Grohl. Just saying…sometimes drummers can sing.

Derek has a few solo records, also does backing vocals on Trio stuff. I believe Brandon Sailor fronts Atreyu now.

I wasn’t forgetting Ringo, Phil or Dave for that matter. Really I was pointing to Matt and Derek because they relate more to this thread. There are actually a lot and Travis isn’t setting trend by doing vocals, it’s just kind of a neat thing to hear that he’s doing it and can be compared to his immediate peers in Mark, Tom, Matt and Tim.

 

Omg… Mark just posted about him having cancer treatment via his IG story. Sending him positive vibes :(

 

You know, for some reason I knew something was up with him.
